Our Story

My name is Markie James and Bark Side Pet Grooming has been a dream of mine since 2010! I am a Burke County native and have lived here most of my life, except for four years while my husband was in the military. I’ve been grooming dogs and cats professionally for over 11 years and it is my life’s passion to help your pets feel and look beautiful while giving them a safe and happy grooming experience.

I have extensive training in the grooming industry, from every breed specific haircut to cat handling techniques and I attend continuing education several times a year. It’s my aim to provide the most up-to-date and informed care for each and every pet that walks in our door. I care for every pet as if it’s my own and make sure they get the same level of treatment I expect my pets to get. I use nothing but the best and safest products and techniques for every groom, every time. I look forward to giving your pets all the love and care they deserve!
