Today we are honoring the man who started it all! After graduating from Iowa State in 1987, Dr. Tom founded Animal Hospital of East Burke in 1989 and dedicated over 35 incredible years to caring for Burke County’s pets. 🩺

An amazing mentor, he helped shape many careers in the field, including Dr. Jenni's! These days, Dr. Tom is enjoying his semi-retired life by traveling, fishing, and spending time with his granddaughter, Corinne. 🎣✈️ Thank you, Dr. Tom, for your decades of compassionate leadership at AHEB! 💜✨

Team Spotlight: Madison ⭐

Since joining our team in 2023, Madison has become an essential part of our clinical operations, currently serving as our Lead Surgery Assistant. Her commitment to the field is backed by a Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Technology from Appalachian State University, which she earned in May 2025. While she is currently pursuing her official technician license, her passion for the work is evident in the strong relationships she builds with our clients. Madison finds true fulfillment in educating pet owners, ensuring they have the knowledge needed to help their companions live long, healthy lives. Outside the clinic, she stays active in the great outdoors, often accompanied by her dogs, Glimmer and Goose, or spending time with her sassy three-legged cat, Glizzy.

We also want to share a huge congratulations to Madison on her recent engagement! 💍🏹 We are so lucky to have her passion and expertise at Animal Hospital of East Burke. 💜✨
