Today we celebrate amazing lab results for ASAP Rescue’s foster dog, CLYDE! 🎉

Most of you know that Clyde was diagnosed with both Addison’s Disease and Hypothyroidism at only 2 years old. He has been on and will continue to be on 3 different medications for the rest of his life in order to properly manage these conditions. His medications work together to help prevent him from going into an Addison’s crisis.

We learned back in December, after a vet visit & x-rays for tummy trouble, that he also suffered being shot with a metal pellet, while living on the streets and trying to survive on his own before animal control could trap and get him into rescue.

It has been a journey getting his medications, side effects, cortisol, electrolytes and thyroid levels balanced in a way that will ensure a comfortable life for him. He has been a trooper!

While he was born with health challenges and experienced cruelty, we are fully committed and excited to make the rest of his life full of only love, tenderness and kindness. 💙

We want to thank Dr. Carey and Dr. Cook with Zion Veterinary Hospital for diagnosing him with these conditions and getting him on the medication he needs, as well as Dr. Terese mountain_view_animal_clinic for managing his ongoing care here in Vail, AZ.

TNR is one of the few areas of animal welfare where doing the job successfully can look like nothing happened at all.

❌ No emotional before-and-after photo.
❌ No last-minute rescue.
❌ No heartbreaking story for people to share.

What you get instead is far more important:

✅ No new kittens.
✅ A stable colony that isn’t continuing to grow.
✅ Less preventable suffering.
✅ Fewer cats entering an already overwhelmed shelter system.

𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆.

Success isn’t only measured by how many animals we rescue from a crisis.

It’s also measured by how many never have to enter one.

The most successful TNR story never happened and 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗲’𝘀 𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗲𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗵𝘆. 💙

We had a bobcat visit our yard the other night. A magnificent creature for sure. Not one we want to TNR 🤣

Humans have encroached upon their habitat. They are so majestic and we feel lucky they chose our yard to make their presence known. AI suggests this is an 25lb healthy adult male.

Low-cost spay/neuter opportunity in Pima County, Arizona! 🐾

The Friends of PACC Spay/Neuter Support Program is helping qualifying Pima County families can have their dogs spayed or neutered for just ❗$35❗ at participating veterinary clinics.

Here are the eligibility requirements:
➡️ The pet owner must live in Pima County.
➡️ The dog must be 30 lbs. or larger, or a puppy expected to reach that size at maturity

The pet owner also needs to have one or more of the following:
✔️ AHCCCS card
✔️ EBT card
✔️ Tribal enrollment paperwork
✔️ Proof of child enrollment in the National School Lunch Program
✔️ Proof of residence in ZIP codes 85705, 85706, 85713, 85735, 85736, 85746, or 85756

Once those conditions have been met, the pet owner can contact a participating clinic to schedule an appointment and pay the $35 co-pay. Participating clinics are:

Scott brings extensive experience in Trap‑Neuter‑Return (TNR) and emergency disaster relief, making him an invaluable addition to our leadership team.

His background in field operations, preparedness, and community collaboration will strengthen our ability to serve cats and caretakers across Southern Utah.

knowledge: Guiding safe, effective trapping and colony management.
