Meet Jill, a 15 year old small breed dog. Her owner had to go to assisted living. Jill has arthritis, chronic tear staining, and occasionally potties inside (although she always goes when outside). She is at our clinic and would love to spend these last months in a home. We will donate all medical care for her if anyone is interested.

Now that we are getting into the summer months and we are planning some fun vacations, here are some tips for traveling with your pets:
😺🏝️🏞️🛩️🚤 ,🐕🚙🚙
Traveling with animals can be a rewarding experience, but it requires careful planning. Here are some tips to ensure a smooth journey for you and your furry friends
1. Research Pet-Friendly Accommodations: Before you travel, check for hotels, campsites, or rentals that allow pets. Make sure to read reviews to ensure they are truly pet-friendly.
2. Visit the Veterinarian: Schedule a check-up before your trip. Ensure your pet is up-to-date on vaccinations and discuss any health concerns. If traveling internationally, check for specific health requirements.
3. Pack Essentials: Bring along your pet’s food, water, bowls, leash, waste bags, grooming supplies, and any medications. Familiar items can help reduce anxiety.
4. Use a Proper Carrier: If traveling by air, invest in an airline-approved carrier. For road trips, make sure your pet is secure in a carrier or seatbelt harness to ensure safety.
5. Keep Identification Updated: Ensure your pet has a collar with an ID tag that includes your contact information. Microchipping is also a good option for additional safety.
6. Plan Breaks: If you're driving, plan regular breaks to allow your pet to stretch, relieve themselves, and hydrate. A good rule of thumb is to stop every 2-3 hours.
7. Maintain Routine: Try to stick to your pet’s usual feeding and exercise schedule as much as possible to keep them comfortable and reduce stress.
8. Know Local Laws: Familiarize yourself with pet laws and regulations in the areas you’ll be visiting, including leash laws and restricted areas.
9. Be Mindful of Weather: Keep your pet’s comfort in mind regarding temperature. Avoid leaving pets in hot cars, and ensure they have adequate shade and water during outdoor activities.
10. Consider Their Temperament: Not all pets are suited for travel. Assess your pet's personality and ability to handle new environments before embarking on a trip.

By planning ahead and considering your pet's needs, you can create a positive travel experience for both of you!

We are in need of a 75 gallon tank as we have recently aquired a turtle who is recovering from a fungal infection and would love to have a bigger space. If you or anyone you know has a tank that they are willing to part with, we are willing to purchase it.
