Caped Crusaders Cat Rescue is a 501c3 Nonprofit Licensed brick and mortar cat shelter in Union Missouri with a large network of foster homes and volunteers.

Our mission statement is to make a dent in the homeless cats and kittens population in Missouri.

It’s $5 Friday.
Unfortunately this is the week of bad and expensive veterinary news.

Honeybun had her midway FIP bloodwork and recheck appointment. Unfortunately, while she had gained weight, this sinister disease still continues to wreak havoc on her internal system. We will need to double the dosage of her FIP meds and do them for an additional 84 days. Double the dose and additional time means additional expense. We need funds.

Next, Chai. Chai has been an ongoing medical issue since coming into rescue. She’s had nonstop problems and diarrhea. We can assume horrible breeding. But so far this poor girl has had-

-regular f***l testing (negative)
-f***l PCR testing (negative)
-multiple rounds of stomach medicines
-daily probiotics and fiber for basically her whole life
-prescription gastrointestinal food trial - failed
-limited ingredient diet trial - failed
-hydrolyzed diet trial - failed
- f***l transplant - failed
- heart testing - negative for issues
- Cortisol testing- negative
-so much blood testing, X-rays, etc

And meanwhile our girl is just flailing and fading before our eyes. She needs even more intensive specialty diagnostics NOW. I can keep a cat going artificially forever, but she needs answers and help NOW. This takes funds and as you know we’re swimming in expenses. We don’t need a hundred dollars we need THOUSANDS. YESTERDAY.

Thanks to the cat warriors we were able to cover rent, but we’re still trying to cover electric next and our vet bills. So please throw your favorite cat rescue some funds. And please be on the look out for our Christmas Cash 50/50, our biggest fundraiser which starts on Sunday.

We have had a large amount of dog food/treats donated to the rescue. So if there is anyone in need of what you see down below, we will be here this afternoon and tomorrow 9am -12 pm.

🐾🚨It’s Five Dollar Friday!!🚨🐾

This Friday, we are in DESPERATE need of help with our rent, electric bill, and vet bill. Our rent is $1,500, which we simply do not have. We still have not had the funds to pay our electric bill, so now after the last one we owe over $1,200. We also just had a spay date, which racked our vet bill up over $2,000.

We need your help more than anything right now. We simply do not have the funds to keep our rescue open anymore.

In total we need to raise at least $4,700 dollars to keep our cats healthy in a warm shelter. So we are begging for your help. Even five dollars makes a difference. Donation links are below.

🐾🚨It’s Wishlist Wednesday!🚨🐾

This Wednesday, we are in desperate need of Pate specific wet food!! Our kitties in fat camp can only have Pate, and we have a few picky eaters who can only eat this. Transport help needed tomorrow, Monday October 19th! 🚨 🐱

Amon has an appt for his (hopefully last) CT scan at AVS (Associated Veterinary Specialists) in Bridgeton tomorrow! He needs to be dropped off between 7-9 am and picked up between 2-5 pm. Is anyone able to transport him from Lemay 63125 to Bridgeton 63044 and back tomorrow?

Look who can stand! We were not sure if Flynn would be able to be strong enough to power through 2 broken legs and a broken pelvis as he mainly drags his back end to get around. But this boy said, “Hold my catnip.” And continues to prove how resilient an 8-week old boy can be.

Go Flynn, go! 💪 Thank you Dr. Schwartz for giving him a new lease on life.
