**“This topic is extremely relevant because questions like this come every single day!
Do not get a purebred cat or dog if you are not ready to cover the cost of proper care‼
It is expensive — very expensive! And the belief that breeders ‘make money’ on cats or dogs is nonsense. Responsible breeders do not earn from their animals — they invest in them. The only people who profit are backyard breeders who live off the lives of their animals while always blaming everyone else. The rest is just excuses!
I am tired of hearing the phrase ‘just for myself,’
‘How much is the kitten/puppy?’
‘Why so expensive?’
‘I don’t need papers.’
Let me say a few words to the person sending an email just to ask for the price…
To the person who calls, hears the amount, and says:
‘I can buy cheaper somewhere else.’
And to the person who doesn’t need “papers” because the pet is “just for themselves.”
No purebred animal is EVER “just for yourself.”
Behind every purebred kitten or puppy stands an entire BREED.
I use capital letters to separate real breeders from backyard breeders.
A true breeder never produces animals without documents —
those documents protect breed characteristics.
Registration (‘papers’) is a pedigree that officially confirms the animal belongs to a breed.
When you tell a breeder that you don’t care about papers, you are simply saying you want the cheapest thing you can find.
A true breeder skips vacations, loses sleep, and sacrifices most of their personal home space to create a safe universe for their animals. A passionate breeder puts their whole heart and soul into every litter. Not only into the kittens/puppies that are sold, but also into every family that receives a piece of their heart and becomes part of their big family.
This includes babies that get sick or need additional help — breeders care for them long after they leave the cattery/kennel and will even take them back if necessary.
A breeder monitors the health of their animals throughout their lives, evaluates their quality through shows, carefully selects breeding pairs, manages pregnancies, assists during birth, and stays awake for days.
And finally — equally important —
a breeder CHOOSES the family who will be lucky enough to receive one of their kittens or puppies. Yes, you read that correctly! A real breeder chooses where their baby goes, because they do not breed for income. There is no price that can compensate for the emotional investment poured into these animals.
Responsible breeders rely on the moral satisfaction of placing their babies in the right hands. They have requirements for anyone wanting a kitten or puppy because breeding is not taken lightly — it is a lifestyle reserved only for dedicated people willing to sacrifice themselves.
A purebred cat or dog is never “just for yourself.”
It is heritage.
It is the breeder’s pride.
It is therapy for elderly people.
It is a family member — someone’s whole world!!!”

This article contains so much truth that must be shared.
Responsible breeding and owning multiple animals is a lifestyle and a devotion many will never understand.
7 days a week, 365 days a year — our lives revolve around our animals.
That’s just how it is.”
