The 26th Slobberfest was despite the hot weather an amazing success!
Thanks to all the wonderful volunteers working hard all-day Friday and Saturday to turn the large dog yard into a festival to remember. Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to each and every one of you. Slobberfest would never happen without you! And for all who came out to support Droopy- thank you so much! The funds we raised help us continue to care for the hounds in our program now and those that will need our help in the months to come.
I wanted to post tonight before any more time passed. This is the first year I took quick photos of the grounds during Slobberfest because it always amazes me how different the property looks Slobberfest weekend. Most years I have only a vague memory of the day, and by Saturday night most of the tents are down, and Sunday you can hardly tell Slobberfest had over 400 people wandering the property, playing games, entering the big tent basset games, buying raffle tickets, checking out the vendors, enjoying the yummy food available and spending time with people who love Bassets. It is truly unbelievable that it all comes together and is then done in 3 days.
Those 3 days are the most intense and physically hard work for our volunteers. Friday started at 8am this year and we were still working on booths till after 8pm. Then Saturday began at 7am for our volunteers, and the last of the volunteers left that night at 11pm. OUR VOLUNTEERS ARE AMAZING!!
AND YOU- our awesome supporters are appreciated more than I can put into words!
Thank you!

PS: My quick photos missed the Rainbow bridge, the food booth (on the front porch) and I am sure a lot more ! LOL
