💔 Meet Sky.
Recently, we were contacted about a terrier mix in Bradford who was in distress after losing her puppies. Heartbroken and refusing to eat, Sky needed help.
Without hesitation, Erie Humane Society staff made the round trip to bring her safely into our care. Once she arrived, it was clear she wasn’t feeling well, so she was transported to Glenwood Pet Hospital for further evaluation.
Sky underwent X-rays to ensure there were no remaining undelivered puppies, and bloodwork was performed to determine the cause of her condition. Thankfully, her tests came back normal, but she required overnight hospitalization and supportive care before returning to EHS.
Today, Sky is beginning to settle into her kennel, where she’ll continue to receive the love, comfort, and care she needs as she recovers.
At the Erie Humane Society, we never turn away a pet in need of medical care. Whether it’s emergency transport, diagnostics, hospitalization, or ongoing treatment, we are committed to being there when animals have nowhere else to turn.
Unfortunately, cases like Sky’s come with significant medical expenses that quickly add up and place additional strain on our resources.
