🎄✨ Happy Holidays from all of us at the Erie Humane Society! ✨🎄

Santa Leo and Francis the Red Nose Reindeer are here to spread some extra cheer—and to remind you to take a peek at our holiday hours before stopping by 🎅🦌

As the year comes to a close, we’re feeling incredibly grateful for our compassionate community who supports our rescue pets every step of the way. Whether you’re adopting, donating, volunteering, or simply cheering us on, you make the season brighter for animals in need.

From our shelter family (two-legged and four-legged alike), we wish you a holiday filled with warmth, kindness, and lots of tail wags. 💕🐾

The young philanthropists in this city never cease to amaze us!

Dexter and Quinnlan celebrated their birthdays with a focus on our four-legged friends. In lieu of traditional birthday presents, they collected supplies and a monetary donation of $150.00 for our shelter pets!

Your generous and selfless acts are so very much appreciated. We hope you had a furbulous birthday!

Every year, the students of Clark Elementary bless our EHS pets with donations for Christmas. They pick them out, and wrap them with care, and deliver them directly to the shelter.

We can’t wait to see our pups unwrap what you’ve gifted them this year! Stay tuned for their “unboxing videos.” 🤩

Thank you for continuing to support EHS and our pet residents with your generosity!

We had a busy night, tonight!

Our friends just around the corner from us, Walnut Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation, hosted their very own festival of trees for their residents to vote on their favorite, and EHS got to take part in decorating one! 🐶🎄🐱

They hosted a Jingle and Mingle for residents, staff, and tree decorating participants to celebrate the holiday season. Of course our contribution to the night was our furry friends!

Thank you for having us! Ginger, Hagrid, and Neville had a blast. ♥️ And thank you to our volunteers for making sure our shelter pups could make it!

128 Years Serving Erie County

In 1892, the Erie Humane Society was incorporated as a private, non-profit, charitable organization of the Commonwealth of PA. The initial mission was to investigate crimes of animal, child, and elder abuse.

Since 2015, the shelter has refocused its efforts on Rescuing, Rehabilitating, and Rehoming pets to the best of our ability. The vision is to ensure refuge, develop relationships, and work with companion animals that are in need of rehabilitation prior to adoption.

Operating under “No-Kill” standards, the Erie Humane Society works to rehabilitate the whole pet, understanding their behavior, medical, and emotional needs. Because of our dedication and commitment to reintegration efforts, pets are given an opportunity to start a fresh chapter while waiting to find their forever homes.

The Erie Humane Society is not a chapter of the Humane Society of the United States --in fact, the HSUS does not operate chapters or shelter. We are a local, independent, registered 501-c3 nonprofit organization. We rely on grant funding, modest adoption fees, and the generous support of our community.
