As a 501(c)(3) no-kill rescue in Tyler, Texas, we provide shelter, care, compassion, and a pathway to loving forever homes for thousands of animals in need We believe that every dog and cat in our community should have the life it deserves - a warm bed, a full belly, a well cared for body and a loving home.

August is a busy month at Pets Fur People! We’re celebrating Clear the Shelters Month with adoption specials and fun events throughout August — all focused on helping more pets find loving homes. ❤️

🐱 Thursdays: $30 adult cat adoptions
🐶 Fridays: $50 large dog adoptions
🐾 Saturdays: FREE adult adoptions with a food donation

We’ll also be out in the community for PetSmart and Hollywood Feed adoption events, holding our 2nd Paws & Pages reading event, plus celebrating International Cat Day and National Dog Day!

August also kicks off our Legacy Society Program for Make-A-Will Month, giving our supporters another meaningful way to make a lasting difference for animals in need.

❤️ Volunteer Spotlight: Kimberly ❤️

We want to take a moment to give a very special THANK YOU to Kimberly!

For the past couple of weeks, Kimberly has been out here most days putting in some serious work around our property. She has cleaned up our memorial garden and has it looking beautiful again, tackled flower beds, and helped with so many of those outdoor projects that take a lot of time, effort, and care.

And after all that work, she’s usually not finished! Kimberly still makes time to walk dogs, spend time with them, and give them some much-needed love and attention. 🐾❤️

Volunteers like Kimberly make such a difference around here. There is always something that needs to be done, and having someone who sees what needs attention and jumps in to help means more than we can say.

Kimberly, thank you for your hard work, your time, and most of all, the care you put into everything you do for our shelter and our animals. We see you, we appreciate you, and we are so grateful to have you as part of our volunteer family! 🌸🐶❤️

Saturday was Skip's day to shine! 🐾❤️

Thanks to two amazing Borrow a Buddy volunteers, Skip got to spend the day doing what every dog deserves to do...playing, exploring, and just being a dog.

His buddies told us he was wonderful from start to finish. He did great on the car ride, happily greeted everyone who wanted to say hello, and soaked up all the love and attention he could get. It was a day that was completely about Skip, and he deserved every minute of it.

These outings mean so much to our shelter dogs. They get a break from the kennel, new experiences, and a chance to show everyone just how amazing they truly are.

A huge thank you to Walker Heating-Cooling for spending part of their weekend helping us clear the brush and debris left behind by the storm 2 week's ago. Recovery takes a village, and we're so grateful you chose to spend your Saturday helping ours.

Not only did your hard work help us make incredible progress around the shelter, but our pups absolutely loved having some new faces to watch, greet, and soak up a little extra attention from. Seeing new people around is always exciting for them, and you definitely made their day just by being here.

Thank you for donating your time, your effort, and your servant hearts. Your generosity is helping us move forward, and we are so thankful to have businesses like Walker Heating & Cooling supporting our shelter and the animals who call it home.

A huge thank you to Kadin Long for choosing Pets Fur People as the beneficiary of his Eagle Scout project with Troop 369!

Our memorial garden gazebo was in need of repair, and Kadin went above and beyond by designing and building us a beautiful new gazebo that will be enjoyed for years to come.

We are incredibly grateful for his hard work, dedication, and commitment to serving our community. Achieving the rank of Eagle Scout is a remarkable accomplishment that reflects leadership, service, and perseverance, qualities Kadin has certainly demonstrated through this project.

✈️🐾 Another successful Ticket to Ride transport! 🐾✈️

In the wee hours of this morning, 12 lucky dogs boarded their flight to the great state of Maryland! While we're a little jealous of the cooler weather they'll be enjoying, we're even more excited knowing that loving homes are waiting for them—or soon will be.

Every Ticket to Ride transport gives dogs a fresh start while opening up space for us to rescue and help even more dogs here in our community. Watching these 12 little lives begin a brand-new chapter is always emotional and incredibly rewarding.

None of this would be possible without our amazing supporters. Whether you've donated to our Ticket to Ride program, purchased an airline-approved kennel, volunteered, or simply shared our posts, you are part of these dogs' journeys.

A very special thank you goes to our incredible transport team, who sacrificed a night's sleep to safely drive these beautiful pups to Dallas so they could catch their flight. Your dedication and compassion make these second chances possible, and we are so grateful for each of you.

Safe travels, sweet pups. We can't wait to see the adoption photos and happy endings that await you. ❤️🐾

As many of you know from the storm damage we shared last week, our facility took a pretty hard hit. We're so grateful to be making progress, and today we want to recognize another incredible business that stepped up to help.

A huge THANK YOU to Rose City Roofing & Construction for repairing the holes in the roof over Kennel 2 from the damage left by last week's storm.

Buddy, the sweet dog who was staying in the kennel directly underneath, is especially thankful that he no longer has an unexpected skylight above his head... and honestly, so are we! 🐶❤️

We are incredibly grateful for your generosity in donating your services and for the exceptional work you did to make this area safe and secure again. Your kindness and willingness to help during this challenging time means so much to us, our staff, our volunteers, and the animals in our care.
