URGENT HELP!!!

Hey everyone Tyler Animal Emergency Hospital LLC please help get the word out. These four dogs are among several at Smith County Animal control that are scheduled to be euthanized on Monday. However, these four have donated blood in the hero dog program.These dogs have been vetted extensively in order to be eligible for this program.

Anyone that adopts any of these for pups not only gets a hero dog. But will additionally get the following from Tyler Animal Emergency Hospital:

1. $750 account credit at the emergency hospital.

2. All vaccines for12 months.

3. Heartworm, flea and tick prevention for 12 months.

4. FREE emergency exams for 12 months.

5. Opportunity to enroll your new pup in the hero blood donor program.

You don't need to make an appointment.
We ask that you come to the shelter between the hours of 8am-4pm Monday - Friday.

Momma Chi got to go home this evening!

Her blood sugar stabilized, she’s eating great and he infection is responding well to the antibiotics.

SPCA of East Texas will take over care from here.

Momma chi is still improving.

She graduated from he climate controlled oxygen ICU kennel to a regular heat support kennel.

Her appetite is increasing as well as her strength. Her body is still fighting infection and trying to maintain her own blood sugar.

Currently she is still receiving dextrose IV fluids on top of all her IV medications. The good news is we were able to decrease how much dextrose she was getting today and she is maintaining at this lower rate.

This means her body is starting to rebound.

Small steady progress is all we can hope and pray for.

Thursday afternoon update.

Momma is still in ICU. She is doing remarkably well after her surgery early this morning.

Unfortunately, all the puppies were already deceased at time of the surgery. Her body didn’t have enough resources to save itself and the puppies.

Her bloodwork is improving this afternoon. She is a little more alert and resting more comfortably.

She is still not out of the woods, but the current trend is promising.

We will provide another update this evening.

SPCA of East Texas

Little girl is fighting. She is currently in the care of our overnight team.

She is septic, severely anemic, weak, and not stable enough for anesthesia and surgery at this moment.

Still in process of receiving her blood transfusion, is on dextrose (sugar) IV fluids and other medications.

Our goal is to try to stabilize her enough to take her to surgery.

At this point her prognosis is guarded, but we are hopeful she pulls through.

To keep our team members safe we will not be accepting any walk-in patients tonight. We do have a crew staying to care for our hospitalized patients and any transfers from primary veterinarians.

We reopen on Friday at 6pm for normal operations.
