As we close out Cancer Survivor Awareness Month, last but not least we have Winston or as we lovingly call him, Winnie.
We’ve had the privilege of caring for Winnie since February of 2022, and watching his journey has been such a special one. In the beginning, he wasn’t quite sure what to think of us. Like many pets facing cancer treatment, it took time to build trust. But over the years, that uncertainty has turned into familiar faces, lots of lovings, and a routine we all look forward to.
These days, every visit includes plenty of love, the chicken his mom thoughtfully brings to make his appointments a little sweeter, and, of course, clipping a toenail or two while we’re at it. It’s the little traditions that remind us how far he’s come and how meaningful these relationships become over time.
Winnie has shown us that courage doesn’t always look dramatic. Sometimes it’s simply walking through our doors again and again, trusting the people who care for you, and continuing to greet each day with quiet resilience. Every appointment is a reminder that cancer may become part of a family’s story, but it doesn’t define the love, joy, and moments that continue to fill each day.
We’re reminded that behind every patient is a family who loves them unconditionally and chooses hope, one day at a time. It’s a privilege to walk alongside them through every milestone, every challenge, and every victory big or small.
Thank you, Winnie, and family for letting us be a part of your story. Thank you for trusting us every step of the way, for celebrating every win with us, and for always making sure Winnie knows just how loved he is. You guys hold a very special place in our hearts, and we can’t wait to see you at your next visit ready for another trim or two.
Happy Cancer Survivor Awareness Month to all of our incredible patients and the families who stand beside them. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your journey. Every story reminds us why we do what we do. 💙🩵🐾
