🐾 PET OF THE WEEK 🐾 Did you know that senior cats make some of the best companions? With their mellow demeanors and relaxed attitudes, they’re perfect for anyone looking for a calm, loving friend.

That's where Wally comes in! This 10-year-old gentleman knows exactly what he wants: 15 minutes of affection followed by some well-earned alone time in his cozy bed. He’s the purr-fect mix of friendly and independent, giving you head bumps one moment and catching Z’s the next.

Wally still has a playful side. He enjoys swatting at toys (and maybe your hand!) with the energy of a kitten, but he’s ready to enjoy his golden years in a peaceful, loving home.

Are you ready to let Wally (A1915737) retire in comfort by your side? Call OC Animal Care at (714) 935-6848 to meet him today!

🐾 Happy Tail Tuesday! 🐾 We received the greatest update on one of our favorite tripod dogs, Dudley! Swipe through to see all his adventures!

His mom wrote: I fell in love with Dudley while volunteering at OC Animal Care and am so happy we found each other. Dudley has been the perfect adventure buddy and roommate while in medical school. In the last year, Dudley has seen snow for the first time, made many new friends at dog daycare, had his first beach trip, gone on several 9+ hour road trips across the states, and hiked with us all over the mountain ranges of Utah!

While the first few months of Dudley’s adoption were filled with adjustments for both of us due to his separation anxiety, he has truly grown into the best friend I could ask for. After a month or two of dedicated training, Dudley can now be left home alone for any amount of time with full trust! He is also a super quick learner and picked up every trick I’ve taught him within one day; he now knows sit, stay, spin, pow, back up, come, lie down, wait, up, find it, heeling at my side and in between my legs, and loves fetch! We are currently working on Dudley’s off-leash training for back country hikes — he already has great recall!

Also, you’d never know Dudley is a tripod — he runs faster than me! He’s never let our 3 mile runs or mountain range hikes slow him down and is truly an inspiration to everyone he meets. He also 100% lives up to his nickname as “cuddly Dudley” at the shelter and often forgets he isn’t a lapdog. Dudley has fit into my life so perfectly and has been so loving; I am so grateful to OC Animal Care for bringing us together!

If you adopted from OC Animal Care, we'd love to feature your "happy tail" story! Email us at [email protected] with your favorite pictures and videos and let us know how your pet is doing.

🐾 PET OF THE WEEK 🐾 Make way for a big hunk of love!  Five-year-old Aniston is a Dutch Shepherd mix who just met his one-year anniversary at the shelter.  While he’s been soaking up the love from our staff and volunteers this past year, what Aniston really wants is a forever home with a loving family.

Here are five reasons why Aniston could be your perfect match:

1.  He’s handsome and strong.
2.  Champ at “sit” and eager to learn more!
3.  LOVES playing fetch; keeping you entertained and active.
4.  Great at self-play with toys, especially when you need alone time.
5.  Can be affectionate and cuddly as long as belly rubs are included!

If Aniston sounds like the pet you’re looking for, please call OC Animal Care at (714) 935-6848 and mention his animal ID A1876720 to foster or adopt him today!

🐾 Happy Tail Tuesday! 🐾 We received the greatest update on Gizmo! Check out all these awesome photos and video of him!

His family wrote: We adopted Gizmo, formally known as Jefferson, on May 9, 2025, at OC Animal Care. He is such a sweet, calm dog. He adapted to our home almost immediately. He loves to sleep in the funniest positions, learns very quickly, and already learned new tricks.

We entered Gizmo into the Anaheim Flag Day Parade, and he won 3rd place. And he got to meet the mayor of Anaheim! Gizmo is doing well and is enjoying his newfound home and family. We love to take him everywhere we go. He has been to a lot of pet friendly restaurants, dog park beaches, and also camping.

We are giving him the love he needs and deserve. He is such a good calm dog. He loves people, and everyone just loves his big ears. Anybody can hold him and kiss him. He is such a sweet dog. Thank you for the opportunity for us to adopt him. We are very lucky to have him.

If you adopted from OC Animal Care, we'd love to feature your "happy tail" story! Email us at [email protected] with your favorite pictures and videos and let us know how your pet is doing.
