☀️🐾 Just another normal day at Tip Top K9!

While most people picture dog training as constant drills and commands, sometimes the best training happens when dogs learn how to simply relax.

Sunbathing in the grass, staying calm around distractions, and learning to settle in new environments are all important skills for a well-rounded dog. Teaching a dog when to be active is important, but teaching them when to relax is just as valuable.

Whether we're working on obedience, confidence, or simply helping dogs enjoy life with their families, every moment is an opportunity to learn.

At Tip Top K9, we believe that at the end of every storm, there is a promise.

For families struggling with a dog’s aggression, anxiety, fear, or bad behavior, that storm can feel exhausting. Summer fun is better when our pups stay safe. Dogs can overheat quickly, especially during walks, training, playtime, or time outside in the sun.

Watch for these signs of overheating: excessive panting, heavy drooling, red gums or tongue, lethargy, vomiting, diarrhea, stumbling, or collapse.

If you notice any of these signs, bring your dog inside right away, place them on tile or a cool floor, and offer room temperature water, not cold water. If symptoms are severe or don’t improve quickly, contact your vet or emergency clinic.

🐾 Life with Suki used to feel a little chaotic for Chris. Her energy was so over-the-top that she’d even accidentally throw herself into walls while getting excited.
