Dogs are experts at hiding discomfort.
By the time you notice changes, they may have been compensating for a while. Keep an eye out for subtle signs like:
Taking longer to get up
Hesitating on stairs or jumping
Less interest in walks or play
Small changes can be easy to overlook, but they can tell you a lot.

School is starting back up! While the kids are busy meeting teachers, shopping for supplies, and getting back into a routine, your pups are watching all the hustle and bustle.
And just like the kids, they’re adjusting to a big change too. ❤️
A few simple ways to help your dog settle into the new routine:
Keep things positive: Make leaving and coming home a happy, calm experience.
Add an extra walk: A little more exercise can help with boredom, extra energy, and anxiety.
Give them something to do: Puzzle toys and enrichment activities can keep their minds busy while everyone is away.
Give extra attention when needed: Some dogs may need a little more love and reassurance as the house gets quieter.
After all, our dogs are part of the family and they notice when things change too.

Walking backward may seem simple, but it's one of our favorite exercises for building strength and coordination!
Back ups can help improve: Rear limb strength, Core stability, Balance, Body awareness- also known as proprioception.

This is a great exercise for many dogs, whether they're staying active, recovering from an injury, or aging gracefully.

As always, work at your dog's pace and stop if they show signs of discomfort.

SUMMER SAFETY TIP: Change up when you exercise
Early mornings and evenings are the best times for walks during the summer heat.
Hot pavement and high temperatures can be tough on our dogs, so don’t forget to bring water along!

Cold vs. Heat: Which should you use?

Use COLD for:
New injuries, swelling, inflammation & after surgery (if recommended)

Use HEAT for:
Stiff joints, tight muscles, arthritis, and before exercise or stretching

Cold calms inflammation. Heat relaxes muscles.
Save this post for the next time your pup needs a little relief!
