When you love your “happy place” so much… why wait for a ride? On July 22, Sampson, an energetic pup, slipped out of his fenced yard and engineered his own 1.5‑mile journey straight to his favorite hangout: Dogtopia of Springfield! That’s right, he made the journey all on his own to his home away from home!

"Relieved and not at all surprised" is how his parents described their reaction to the news.

Sampson the dog surprised his owners by escaping from his fenced backyard to travel over a mile, across busy roads, to visit his friends at his favorite doggy daycare

This week was emotional and difficult! We are going to miss seeing so many pups and pet parents who were truly loved by our team! Sincerest thanks to a wonderful team of employees who continued to come in and give the best care to the dogs. On our last day in business, we were fortunate to be able to celebrate birthdays for two of our regular daycare dogs (Zoey & Nicholas) which brought us all a lot of joy. We wish everyone the best, and hope to cross paths again in the future.
