💔 A Difficult but Necessary Update from AZ Pug Life Rescue 💔
At this time, AZ Pug Life Rescue will be temporarily closing intake for new dogs while we work to catch up on overwhelming veterinary expenses and secure additional funding.
This does not mean the rescue is shutting down. We are still here. We are still caring for the dogs already in our rescue, supporting our fosters, processing adoptions, and continuing the day-to-day work that goes into saving lives. 🐾
But right now, we have to be realistic about what we can responsibly take on financially.
Our current vet balances are:
• North Scottsdale Animal Hospital — $4,500
• Rincon Vista Veterinary Center — $3,900
Like most rescues, we never want to say no to an animal in need. We push ourselves emotionally, physically, and financially because these dogs deserve help. But the reality is that rescue work comes with constant medical expenses, emergencies, surgeries, medications, and ongoing care — and at the moment, we simply cannot continue adding new intakes without first getting caught up.
This pause is necessary so we can protect the future of the rescue and continue providing proper care for the dogs already depending on us.
We are incredibly grateful for every single person who has supported AZ Pug Life Rescue along the way. Your donations, shares, fosters, adopters, and encouragement are what keep this rescue going every day. ❤️
We are hopeful this will only be temporary, and we’ll continue doing everything we can for the pugs and pug mixes currently in our care while we work toward becoming financially stable enough to open intake again. 🐾
Thank you very much
