IMPORTING DEER AND ELK FROM OUT OF STATE
CWD clarification!! AZ Game and Fish recently posted new guidelines regarding the protection of Arizona's deer and elk from CWD.
You MAY bring an intact animal to a REGISTERED (LICENSED) Taxidermist from out of state. Here is the the complete notification:
All,
Thank you for your patience while we work to resolve this issue.
We have met with leadership in AGFD's Law Enforcement Program and have come to a resolution.

According to the Arizona Game and Fish Commission Rule R12-4-305, out of state hunters may only import into Arizona and possess the following portions of cervids lawfully taken in another state or country:

• Boneless portions of meat, or meat that has been cut and packaged;
• Clean hides and capes with no skull or soft tissue attached;
• Antlers, clean skull plates or skulls with antlers attached with no meat, soft tissue OR antler velvet attached;
• Finished taxidermy mounts or products; and
• Upper canine teeth with no meat or tissue attached

Because of this rule, there have been concerns regarding your ability to lawfully collect samples from animals harvested out of state.

HUNTERS NOTE THIS!! *******************************

We have worked with leadership in the Law Enforcement Program and have agreed that hunters will be permitted to bring their out of state harvest into Arizona in a condition other than above only if it is transported directly to a LICENSED MEAT PROCESSOR OR TAXIDERMIST. You may still accept these animals, and hunters will not be held liable. However, please be aware that hunters submitting samples from out of state harvests will be sent a letter informing them of recent changes to this rule.

These laws are enforced in an effort to protect Arizona from the spread of Chronic Wasting Disease, an effort you have been instrumental in achieving. I appreciate your continued support of this program and our mission to keep Arizona CWD-free.

Sincerely,

Arizona Game and Fish Department
azgfd.gov | 5000 West Carefree Highway, Phoenix, AZ 85086

the G&F has been email blasting and posting news releases without telling the whole truth. There is nothing wrong or illegal with you wanting to bring your animal back to Arizona to your licensed taxidermist /meat processor. even if their information says different, I know a lot of the out of state seasons have already started, so please share this with as many people and pages as you can.

Heart Shaped Antlers

10/05/2018

Hello Hunters! Here is a tip for protecting your trophy in the field. Before you go, FREEZE 6 to 8 1 LITER BOTTLES OF WATER. They can be used for cold in your ice chest. When you harvest your animal, place several in the neck cavity and around the head and cape to keep the skin fresh until you get to your taxidermist. Better than loose ice because the cape won't get wet in the ice chest you bring it home in. GOOD LUCK!

We urge you all to vote YES on Prop 126. We don't want to have to charge you for taxes on taxidermy services!

Don't judge another person's trophy!
08/21/2018

Don't judge another person's trophy!

We're all guilty of it. We see a hunter with mismatched camo with an old single-shot 12-gauge. And he's sporting his deer he just harvested on the back of his old truck. It's a doe or more than likely a smaller buck. But he's happy, and grinning from ear-to-ear like he just killed the new world record! So you laugh and joke with your buddies as he goes by. While leaning against your brand new truck, in your name brand matching camo. But have you ever stopped to think that maybe the deer on the back of his truck means a lot more to him than just big antlers.... maybe he's a third shift blue collar worker at the local steel mill, just trying to pay his bills and keep gas in his old truck. Maybe he don't have the fancy game cameras and big food plots that you have. Or the big fancy hunting blinds, that cost more than his old truck. Maybe he's happy because he finally didn't have to work this weekend. So he decided to go hunting on the little piece of land that he's hunted since he was a boy, with the gun that his dad gave him when he turned 12 years old. More than likely he's not hunting to kill the next World Record. He could care less about the antlers. But what he does care about is putting food on the table for his family at home, and knowing that they're going to eat good for now. And that my friends will put a smile on any true sportsmans face. So good luck to all the hunters out there with the rest of your season. Just remember this, support each other and be happy for each other, no matter how big their harvest is, because to some folks it means a lot more then the size of the antlers.

Awsome work!!! Very satisfied and great customer service!!
Thanks again for the excellent work! This guy barley fit!
I have a kudu skin that im thinking of doing something with. I has been tanned already. What would it cost to finish it as a rug? Or maybe as a runner?
Do you have a picture of a mountain lion rug you have made? Thank you.
