Meet Peanut! He's a 6-7 yr old, 10 lb neutered male Chi mix available through . Super smart, loves training, high toy and food drive. He's just an uber cool little guy who's searching for the right home. In typical Chi fashion, he takes a bit to warm up to new folks, but once he does, he's all in and very affectionate.

Wishing everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day weekend. ❤️🐾

Buttercup Needs Her Person ☀️🐾

Since December, Buttercup has been waiting in boarding through Paws Without Borders for someone willing to see past the “too much” moments and into the incredibly special dog underneath.

Buttercup is a vibrant, goofy, affectionate little powerhouse who absolutely adores people and loves other dogs. She is playful, portable, snuggly, pick-up-able, and full of personality. She loves training, loves wearing clothes, has a favorite blanket, and tries SO hard to get things right.

Like many young-at-heart dogs, Buttercup sometimes gets carried away by her excitement and needs help settling into everyday life. She is not a fit for homes with young children (because of her excitement level) or cats (due to prey drive).

What Buttercup really needs now is a chance to move beyond boarding and into real life. Even a temporary foster for a few weeks could be life-changing for her — giving her the opportunity to practice in-home skills, decompress, and provide valuable feedback that could help her find the right forever home.

She is not a “bad” dog. She is a deeply loving, high-energy dog who needs guidance, structure, patience, and someone willing to invest focused attention into helping her grow. The potential is absolutely there.

If you've ever had a soft spot for the underdogs, the project dogs, the dogs who love with their whole heart but need help putting the pieces together — Buttercup deserves a real chance. 💛

We had a first-time client who was really sad about dropping her dog off this morning — and we totally get it. It’s a huge responsibility for us to take on their care, and it takes a big leap of faith to trust someone new with your kiddos.

Tuck, Lucky, and Sammy are here to tell you it’s worth it. ❤️🐾

I’m not the right trainer for everyone — and that’s okay.
If we work together, you’ll probably be someone who’s fine communicating over text or email 😅, likes digging into behavior videos or books I send your way, and can appreciate (and celebrate) the small wins.

The dogs who tend to find their way to me are often the more complex, sometimes deeply challenged ones — and that takes patience, curiosity, and consistency more than anything else.

Lately I’ve had some standout teams making real progress with just occasional lessons, and a lot of steady follow-through from their fantastic humans in between.

I tend to keep things flexible rather than rigid programs or very frequent lessons, because dogs (and people) need time to practice, try things, and actually learn through experience. One of my lovely clients called me “coach” yesterday, and I realized I like that word a lot more than trainer. My goal is simply to help you help your dog.

The world can feel pretty loud and stressful sometimes for both humans and dogs. I really value working with people who want to bring a little more ease into that for their dogs — and who can find some laughter along the way too.

Shoutout to the following four for some fantastic progress lately — and even more so to their dedicated humans. You’re the reason it’s working. 🖤🐾

Pic 1: Zuri — a severely undersocialized Great Pyrenees now venturing out her front door with confidence, enjoying human company, meeting novelty with more optimism, and loading into the car cooperatively.

Pic 2: Zena — once overwhelmed by environmental change, she’s now looking to her foster humans for guidance more often and finding her inner calm more quickly.

Pic 3: Rayban — what looked like a tough exterior was really fear. He’s now walking past most dogs and people with real neutrality, and trusting his humans to handle things.

Pic 4: Sammie — a young guy who initially latched tightly onto his adopters and wanted to shut the rest of the world out. His inner circle — and his view of the world — are steadily expanding.
