I have groomed this sweet girl every month for a couple of years.
The last time I groomed her, her Mom wasn't home so I went in the yard to get her and after playing her usual game of hide and seek, she ran up to me and threw herself at my feet and rolled over on her back. I knelt down and kissed her on the nose. It was a really nice day and I wasn't in a hurry so we laid down in the grass together in the sunshine for a couple of minutes before bath time.
A few days before her next groom, her Mom reached out to cancel her appointment because she had been to the vet and they found a malignant mass on her spleen. They just wanted to keep her as comfortable as possible for her short time left. Yesterday, I found out that sweet Gracie has crossed the rainbow bridge.
I had no idea that day would be the last time I would see Gracie. But I'm so glad we shared such a sweet moment together. Rest in the sweetest peace, my friend 💔
