Was visiting with a friend who traveled long distance that had not seen since childhood when the phone rang and was told Todi is not feeling well. Camera showed just few minutes earlier she was walking around as usual. Took her to urgent care and she passed while still under exam. That quick we lost her and I’m in shock. Vet not sure what the cause was but since other chickens are fine it might have been something internally. I know other sanctuaries that rescue chickens have felt the pain of losing chickens suddenly and I know the chickens aren’t sadly bred to live long but just to lay egg as much as possible as quickly as possible. But also know our little girl had experienced a great life and exceptional love in our care and as the vet said sometimes that’s all we can do. Love you little Todi may you fly happy forever in heaven until we see you there🥺❤️we are sad 😢 today
