ars field trialing English Springer Spaniels. His experience working with exceptional dogs, including FC, AFC, CFC Rockeys Quest, helped shape the training philosophy and knowledge he applies today. Gary has also had the honor of judging the U.S. National Open Championship, an experience that further strengthened his appreciation for elite working dogs. At Rockey’s Kennels, Gary focuses on training and field trialing, while Josh oversees the breeding program. Each year, they produce a limited number of Springer and Cocker litters with an emphasis on natural ability, strong genetics, health, and trainability. Their dogs have gone on to succeed not only as hunting companions, but also in agility, scent work, detection, competition, and family homes. Their training philosophy centers on identifying a dog’s natural strengths, developing those abilities through positive reinforcement and repetition, and helping each dog reach its full potential. Health and genetics remain a top priority, with OFA certifications and Embark DNA testing utilized to help produce healthy, capable companions for years to come.

Monroe (11) Running Sharky in the Spring Trial. They had an awesome run and were able to complete all 3 series. They have such a cool bond. Shark is a 6 year old English Springer Spaniel.

Shark earned his Championship title this past weekend! He and Monroe have been an incredible team over the years, and while Monroe was kind enough to let me borrow him for a little while, he finally gets his dog back.

It’s been amazing watching them grow up together, into a great young man and an equally great companion. Here’s to many more years and adventures ahead.
