Cincinnati Animal CARE is deeply disappointed in this weekās ruling in the Muddy Water Equestrian Park horse cruelty case. Given the condition of the animals, Hamilton County Dog Wardens seized 18 animals from the property in August of last year to ensure their safety and well-being.
Based on what was observed, immediate action was taken under Ohio Revised Code Chapter 959, Sections 959.132, and 959.132 (B), out of concern for the welfare of the horses at that time. On March 25, 2026, a Hamilton County court ruled in favor of the defenseās motion to suppress evidence.
We stand by the decision to intervene at that time, acting always in the best interest of the animals. At this time, the fate of the horses is still uncertain, but an appeal has already been filed, and there is a court date set two weeks from now. Together with our equine partner, Fighting Chance Rescue, we will continue working with the Hamilton County Prosecutors Office to pursue any and all legal actions available to us, to seek justice for these horses.
