Hot weather can be deadly for dogs! Heat stroke can happen in minutes — especially in parked cars, on hot pavement, or during intense play. Know the signs: excessive panting, drooling, lethargy, vomiting, or collapse.
Keep walks short, provide plenty of water, and NEVER leave pets in a car — not even for a minute.

Did you know that something as simple as a puddle could put your pet at risk? Leptospirosis is a dangerous bacterial disease that affects both animals and humans. It spreads through the urine of infected wildlife and can be found in soil, water, and even that tempting puddle your dog loves to splash in.

Symptoms in pets can include fever, vomiting, lethargy, and even kidney or liver damage — but the good news is, leptospirosis is preventable.

Vaccination is the best defense, especially if your pet loves the outdoors or if you live in an area with lots of wildlife or standing water. We’re here to help you stay one step ahead. Call or message us to schedule a lepto vaccine or to learn more. Your pet’s health and safety are always worth it!

•Skin irritation can be caused by a multitude of things (allergies, hot spots, parasites, infections, etc)

•It is important to make sure any infections of the skin are controlled. A simple cytology is what is needed to determine what kind of infection it is, and at that point can be treated appropriately!

•Be sure to keep up on flea and tick prevention

•Some pets may need anti-itch medication whether it is a monthly injection or a daily pill. These greatly improve your companion’s quality of life🐾
