Big East Akita Rescue Dedicated to the rescuing & rehoming of adoptable Akitas Big East Akita Rescue, Inc. We look for permanent loving homes for our dogs.

(BEAR) is an all volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to giving a second chance to Akitas in the North East who have been abandoned, turned into animal shelters, or are no longer wanted by their families. We are dedicated to saving the Akita, a breed of dog endowed with loyalty, devotion, intelligence and honor. We will work with families to help keep their Akita in their home, pr

oviding resources and one on one support. We are committed to helping as many dogs as we financially can. We will work to educate potential owners and the public about the Akita breed with a goal of reducing the number of abandoned, abused, neglected, or unwanted Akitas.

New Jersey senior male akita of 11 years old left at a boarding kennel in Atlantic County ( this is about 20 minutes south of me 🤬) His name is Buddy and at 11 he is searching for a home. He is safe where he is and has people who love him but they feel he needs a home . We are going to assist in helping to place this happy guy . He does need to be an only pet . Buddy is very friendly with people, knows basic commands and is good for walks . He does have arthritis and is on medication. Buddy loves treats and is so happy to be with people .

Love this goofy boy ! Kazzy came to us stray from the Edgecomb County Animal shelter NC . He was picked up out at the landfill with his sister ( who I believe is his sister ) Kimmy . Kazzy was very under weight and tested positive for heart worm .
Kazzy will always bring a smile to your face. He is just plain happy with that adorable tipped ear . Never meets a stranger and appears to be female dog tolerant . We have been working with Kazzy , he now knows sit and paw , takes treats gently , takes a correction like a trooper while happily wagging his tail . Kazzy is currently going through heart worm treatment and will soon be ready to be adopted . This is a super happy goofy guy. Guessed to be about 2 years old .
