Wilbur is an 8 -9 month old that was found outside a Burger King one afternoon, sitting quietly near the edge of the parking lot. When someone finally noticed him and set down a bit of food, he hesitated but eventually came closer. He was hungry, but more than that, he was nervous. A local rescuer came to check on him and saw right away that he wasn’t mean or wild, just scared. With a little patience and some gentle coaxing, Wilbur let himself be picked up and brought to safety. At first in his foster home, he spent most of his time hiding under furniture. New sounds and smells were a lot to take in. But over the days, he began to peek out more often. Wilbur loves watching out the window with the other foster kittens. Once he feels safe, he’ll reward you with quiet purrs and slow blinks of trust. Wilbur would do best in a calm home with someone who understands that shy cats just need a little extra time to bloom. Other cats really bring out Wilbur’s confidence — he follows their lead, plays alongside them, and seems much braver when he has a feline friend to look up to. He has been making strides in his foster home and is looking for a forever home!
