Adopt. Don’t Shop 🪽

Every pet deserves a second chance.
When you adopt from a shelter, you’re not just gaining a best friend, you’re saving a life. Shelters are full of incredible animals who are waiting for love, whom ended up there through no fault of their own.

Choosing to adopt instead of buying from breeders matters. Many prioritize profit over animal welfare. This can lead to cruel conditions like overcrowded kennels, poor health, and lack of socialization…especially in puppy mills.
Supporting breeders also fuels the demand for more litters while millions of adoptable pets are euthanized each year. 💔

When you adopt, you break the cycle. You stand for compassion, selflessness, second chances, and a better future for all animals. 🦸

There’s no better feeling than knowing you made a difference in a life that needed you most. 💕

It’s Marvelous Mutt Monday!

Meet Cassie, a 4 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback mix! She’s sweet as can be with good manners to boot! She knows her basic commands and aims to please! This girl is just a wonderful, well behaved dog who can’t wait to be a part of a family again!

Bubbles is a sad senior girl (12 years old) who spends her days crying for attention. She came to us with her sister Mulan (6 years old) when they were found abandoned in a cage without food or water for an extended period, leaving a third dog that unfortunately died. Bubbles had bad ear infections leaving callused ears, her teeth were grinded down and infected, and her face is lopsided from previous trauma. Despite her hardships, she longs for companionship and affection. We are hoping her days of crying in a cage are over and she can live the rest of her days knowing true love. Bubbles and her sister are the definition of a sweet pittie!

It’s Whiskers Wednesday!

Meet 1 year old Papaya! Papaya was brought into us by a Good Samaritan when he was found outside with a fractured jaw. Our veterinary team at Midwest took the best care of him and successfully wired his jaw. While Papayas jaw is all healed from surgery, he still remains on a wet food diet. Papaya is loving to people, but prefers to be an only pet, so all the kitties around while he’s recovering is a bit stressful here. After all he’s been though, Papaya is just looking for a loving home where someone will take a chance on a kitty that just looks a little different from his trauma.

It was an awesome day at the Easter Egg Hunt for Dogs this past Saturday. Thanks to all who came out to support our shelter!
