Did You Know? Keeping your dog’s nails trimmed isn’t just for looks, it’s essential for their health and comfort!
1. Long nails can cause pain and joint issues.
When nails get too long, they push against the ground and force the toes to splay or twist. Over time, this can lead to discomfort, arthritis, and posture problems.
2. Regular trims prevent injury.
Long nails are more likely to snag, split, or break, which can be painful and sometimes lead to infections.
3. The “quick” gets longer with neglect.
The quick (the blood vessel inside the nail) grows along with the nail. If nails go too long between trims, the quick can grow out too far, making it harder to cut the nails short without bleeding.
4. Smooth floors + long nails = slip risk!
Overgrown nails reduce your dog’s traction, making it easier for them to slip and hurt themselves, especially on tile or hardwood floors.
5. How often should you trim?
Most dogs need nail trims every 3–6 weeks, depending on their activity level and lifestyle. If you hear clicking on the floor, it's time!
6. You don’t have to do it alone!
Not every pup (or person!) enjoys nail trims. That’s why we offer gentle nail trim services with experienced handlers who care about your pet's comfort and safety.
