Our animals have been sold. Our son has passed away. Our life is changing directions. Thank you to everyone who has been there for us from the beginning, and those we met along the way. Vivid Scales was a wild ride, but it's now time to close the door and hopefully open another that's just as interesting.

I do already miss making soap haha. Best of luck to everyone out there 🐍🧼

Unfortunately, we will not be able to vend for the foreseeable future. Marcus is not doing well. New tumors have popped up and caused his spine to fracture. Prayers and positive vibes please.

I guess its time we let everyone know that Vivid Scales has been put on hold. Our 15 yo son has been diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma. Him and I (Amber) have been relocated to Memphis st. Jude. Paul is home with the other 2 and they are helping him take care of the animals. But since there is so much going on in our personal life, we will not be posting any animals for sale, will not be vending any shows, and will not be making or sending out any soap until things are more stable. As of right now, the treatment plan is 7 months.Thank you all for understanding. Please send good vibes, thoughts and prayers our way 💜

Love seeing what photos he gets when he stops by our table 🤩

What would a reptile expo be without stopping to smell soaps and see the beautiful snakes at Vivid Scales. My sister and I got the great opportunity to take pictures of this very photogenic posing snake. I am super appreciative to Amber and Paul for how kind and informative they are every time I see them!

See you in Tulsa on October 1st!! We will have a great variety of reptiles, feeders and supplies. Tickets Do Not sell out. You can pay via credit card or cash at the door (there is a discount using cash). VIP entry starts at 9am and can also be purchased the day of the show at the admission booth.

For the love of all scales

We are a husband and wife who never thought we’d be able to share animals with our children. Either we just didn’t like the type of animal or one of us was allergic. One day we were in a pet store picking up bedding for the guinea pigs (who Paul was allergic to) when one of our sons asked for a snake. That was a firm no from me. My dad raised me to fear them, they are all bad. So instead we picked up two bearded dragons. We listened to the employee on how to house them, picked up the pamphlets and got the one tank. Well, after getting home and doing just a tiny bit of research, we realized were extremely miss informed. While on our many visits back, we found other reptiles I was okay with. Doing the research first did cut down on our trips. But one trip on a black Friday landed a Florida king in my hand. After the initial shock of a snake in my hand, I realized they were not everything my dad made them out to be. On that day years ago we made our first snake purchase and haven’t looked back since. Our dream now is to share these amazing animals with our friends, family and some day the world. We hope to share the tips and tricks we’ve learned along the way so others won’t have to struggle in some of the ways we have.
