When you have time, spend "floor time" for a spell with your dogs. They will love you for it.
Floor Time is social bonding time with your dog. They'll love you for getting on their level so they can sniff your head and face. Your dog will bring toys over to play with you. Or they may just start trying to tear up a toy, but glance at you to make sure you're still there (as a kind of parallel play).
AND the more time you spend on the floor, the easier it gets to actually get up from the floor. It strengthens your core and balance. Do it for building your relationship with your dog. Do it for yourself!

It's been a year since I first met this little guy, Tito. He's a fearful rescue who doesn't like strangers and doesn't like to be touched very much.

Every time I petsat him and his 5 other dog housemates, I showed him that I was a safe person to be around. His favorite spot in the house is always my lap, but on this morning, he snuggled on my arm. It's a great feeling to know that such a tiny creature trusts you. I never take it for granted.

I'm so glad I get to see my favorite Golden Girls, River and Rumor, again!

One of my policies is no on-leash dog greetings for my client dogs. Head-on greetings for dogs can be fraught with tension and can lead to conflict, so I avoid the situation altogether.

The one exception to this is if my clients have told me about specific dogs that their dog is friends with. Today Bleu saw Woody the Beagle. She's known Woody since she was a wee puppy and she always wants to greet him if she sees him. Likewise, Woody loves Bleu, so Woody's person brought him over to see us. I love seeing healthy relationships between dogs!
