URGENT: Seeking Advice from Fellow ACD Owners - Dealing with Degenerative Myelopathy (DM)
My 7-year-old Australian Cattle Dog, Max, has recently been diagnosed with Degenerative Myelopathy (DM), a progressive neurological disease that can be fatal.
Symptoms started with loss of coordination, stumbling, and difficulty standing up. The vet confirmed the diagnosis through MRI and genetic testing.
I'm reaching out to the ACD community for advice on managing Max's condition and improving his quality of life. Have any of you dealt with DM in your ACDs?
What treatments, therapies, or lifestyle changes have you found helpful in slowing down the progression of the disease?
Any recommendations for pain management, physical therapy, or alternative therapies would be greatly appreciated.
