🐾🍳 National Cook for Your Pets Day! 🥕🐶🐱

Today, skip the bowl and put a little love on the menu! ❤️
Whether your pet is a crunchy-carrot fan, a chicken connoisseur, or simply believes your dinner is always better, National Cook for Your Pets Day is the perfect excuse to make them something special.

Just remember: not everything that’s healthy for us is safe for pets. Keep their homemade treats pet-safe and avoid ingredients like onions, garlic, chocolate, grapes, raisins, and foods containing xylitol.

👩‍🍳 Cook with love. Serve with care. Keep those tails wagging! 🐾

✈️🐶 Traveling to Mexico with your dog? There's an important new requirement to know!

Beginning August 3, 2026, dogs traveling from the United States to Mexico must have a New World Screwworm Inspection Certificate before entering Mexico.

Here's what you need to know:
🐾 A USDA-accredited veterinarian must examine your dog.
📋 The certificate confirms your dog is free of New World Screwworm.
🗓️ The examination must be completed within 5 days of travel.
🐱 Cats are not affected by this new requirement.

Don't forget: Dogs returning to the U.S. from Mexico still need the required screwworm-free certification to re-enter the United States.

Many international destinations have their own travel requirements as well, so it's important to start planning months before your trip. Travel documents often require specific vaccines, testing, treatments, and paperwork that must be completed on a strict timeline.

💙 If you're planning international travel with your pet, contact Tenafly Veterinary Center as early as possible. We'll help guide you through your destination's requirements and make sure your pet is ready for a safe trip!

📞 Call or text us at 201-567-7878 to get started.

Let’s get to know the hosts behind 4 Paws in the Park! 🐾💛

Meet NJVet, the team behind Tenafly Veterinary Center and Overpeck Creek Animal Hospital in Bogota, NJ.

And while they know a thing or two about taking care of animals, their real secret weapon isn’t something you’ll find in an exam room.

It’s their people.

Because being a great veterinary team takes more than loving animals. It takes knowing how to care for the humans attached to them, too.

The nervous pet parent. The dog who suddenly forgets how to walk when they see the exam room. The cat who has made it VERY clear they did not consent to this appointment. 😂

Their staff understands that every pet comes with a person who loves them, worries about them, and wants what’s best for them.

And making BOTH feel comfortable, understood, and cared for? That’s a skill you can’t teach with a textbook.

But don’t mistake their compassionate approach for old-school veterinary medicine.

NJVet combines modern veterinary technology, medical expertise, and a team that genuinely gives a damn about the pets and people walking through their doors.

Because advanced technology is only as good as the people using it.

And when you combine the two? That’s where exceptional veterinary care happens.

With two convenient Bergen County, NJ locations, their team is committed to making quality veterinary care a better experience for everyone involved.
