🎆 Did you know? More cats and dogs go missing on the 4th of July than any other day of the year. Fireworks, loud noises, and crowded cookouts can be scary for them.
Here are some vet-approved safety tips for your four-legged family:
🐶🐱 1. Keep Pets Indoors
Fireworks = scary stuff! Set up a quiet, cozy hideaway with a bed, calming music, or even a white noise machine. Let cats find their favorite hiding spot and leave them be.
💥 2. ID Tags & Microchips
Double check that your pet’s ID tags are secure and up to date. Even indoor cats can bolt when frightened!
🍗 3. No BBQ Scraps for Fluffy
Bones, onions, garlic, and alcohol can be toxic to pets. Stick to treats made for cats and dogs only!
🧨 4. Say No to Fireworks & Glow Sticks
Sparklers, fireworks, glow jewelry, and lighter fluid can be very dangerous if chewed on. Keep them well out of paw’s reach!
🌡️ 5. Keep Cool, Stay Hydrated
Make sure your pets have access to cool water and a shady spot to relax — especially if you’re celebrating outdoors.
🎉 Let’s celebrate with cuddles, not chaos!
