Beachwalk Pet Concierge’s featured business for “What’s up Wednesday” is Scoop Recon 360! I had the pleasure of meeting Jake & Brooke this week at my client’s house. What a super nice couple with great energy! It’s clear they are very dedicated to their growing business, and what a helpful business to hire! They do their job so you & your pets can enjoy yard time, worry-free! (And dog-bomb free!) Perfect for busy families or elderly people that just might need a helping hand. My clients yards are always spotless after they show up:) Whether you need them weekly, or have a get together to host in the backyard, hire them to scoop, sanitize, and save the day!

I know. We get it. It's the Holidays. Lots going on. But we had this dream of providing a home to some homeless pups this season. Perhaps in front of a tree...with a blanket...soft music playing in the background...their very own toy. A first-time experience for many of them. We are asking you to help us make this dream come true!

If you have pups and kids, bring them for a meet and greet! Renting? Please bring a copy of your rental & pet policy. We will also need to see a copy of vaccine records for all animals in the home.

A sweet pup looking for his forever home! Suncoast Animal League

Meet Chief — aka Finnegan (or just Finn to his friends!) 🐾💙

Chief is the perfect blend of playful puppy energy and laid-back chill vibes. At just 8 weeks old, he’s already proving he’s one smart little cookie! He’s almost potty trained with consistent “let’s go outside!” reminders, and he shows off his adorable sit like he’s been practicing for a talent show.

He’s crate trained, too — he might fuss for a minute when he first goes in, but he quickly settles down like the good boy he is.

Chief spends his days romping around with the four dogs in his foster home, exploring the fenced yard on little puppy adventures, chewing on his beloved Boss Bones, and taking down stuffies like a tiny (adorable) wrestler. He would be over the moon to have a playful fur sibling in his forever home!

He’s also working hard on his manners, especially learning that kitties are friends, not chew toys — “leave it” is becoming part of his daily vocabulary.

If you’re on the lookout for a sweet, curious, fun-loving pup who knows how to play AND how to relax, Chief is more than ready to wiggle his way into your heart and home. 💛🐶✨

People hear "socialization" and think it means dogs playing together -- you know, being social.

But socialization is not about dogs playing with other dogs.

It's easy to see why people have a hard time understanding what socialization means when it comes to dogs.

Looking at the root of the word, social, it makes sense that we interpret it as interacting (or playing) with other dogs because that's what it means when talking about human behavior.

But in reality, socialization involves introducing a dog to a wide variety of stimuli (sights, sounds, smells, experiences) in a positive and controlled manner.

Socialization is building positive associations with and being neutral when exposed to those stimuli. (An easy example: the vacuum cleaner.)

Socialization helps your dog to be comfortable with other animals, people, places, and activities.

The more you build those positive associations while exposing your dog to a variety of controlled situations, the more equipped and better prepared your dog is when he encounters those
environments or situations spontaneously throughout his life.

Socialization helps create a well-rounded dog that is more confident and comfortable in a variety of environments.
