Misty has spent five years surviving. We want the rest of her life to be about living. 🤍

This sweet little 15-pound girl has been through absolute hell.

Misty was originally owned by an elderly couple who simply could not provide the care she needed. She was bred over and over again. She wasn’t fed properly and became severely malnourished. And after repeatedly trying to escape through a fence, she was left with a massive wound running down her back.

At only five years old, Misty has already endured more than any dog ever should.

But somehow, she is still SO sweet. Still gentle. Still willing to trust. Still ready to love.

And now we want to show her that life can be so much more.

We want Misty to know soft beds and full bowls. Walks just because the sun is shining. Car rides and adventures. Sniffing new places. Feeling grass under her feet. Falling asleep knowing she is safe. Being someone’s little shadow. Being loved not for what she can produce, but simply because she is Misty.

She deserves the chance to finally just be a dog.

Misty is 5 years old, only 15 pounds, and can live with other dogs and cats. We are looking for a foster beginning Wednesday who can give this incredibly deserving little girl the safe, loving home she should have had from day one.

She lost the first five years of her life to neglect.

Help us make sure the rest belong to her. 🤍

URGENT: LADY NEEDS OUR HELP

Sweet Lady has already endured so much. She has been living with someone in an encampment, and last night, she was attacked by another dog.

Lady was left with two wounds on her front left leg. The area is swollen, and she is unable to put much weight on it. As soon as we learned what happened, we picked her up and rushed her to our veterinarian to make sure she received the care she desperately needed.

Lady is being examined now, and the veterinary team is beginning X-rays and blood work to determine the extent of her injuries. Her bill has already reached $440.

She was scheduled to be spayed tomorrow, but we could not allow her to wait while she was injured and in pain. This was a completely unexpected expense, but Lady’s well-being comes first, and we want to do everything possible to help her heal.

Please consider donating toward Lady’s $440 veterinary bill. Every amount, no matter how small, will help us cover this unexpected cost and continue being there for animals like Lady when they need us most.

EXTREMELY URGENT: BALOO NEEDS A FOSTER BY TOMORROW MORNING‼️

Baloo had a foster lined up because his current foster is leaving town for a couple of months. Unfortunately, we just received notice that his new foster can no longer take him through absolutely no fault of Baloo.

Baloo now has nowhere to go, and we urgently need to find him a foster home by tomorrow morning.

Baloo thrives in the right environment and does best as the only dog. He may be able to live with another dog following very slow, careful introductions. He cannot live with cats or young children. He loves having a fenced yard where he can run, but a yard is not required.

Baloo is a very cuddly, loving boy who deserves stability and a safe place to land. He is fully vetted, and we will provide all necessary supplies.

Please send us a message immediately if you can foster Baloo. Even if you cannot foster, sharing this post could be what helps us find the person who can.

This is extremely urgent. Baloo must have somewhere to go by tomorrow morning. Please share!

Jack and Enzo want to show you their new outfits! What do you think? Personally, we think their outfits will look even cuter in their furever homes!

They are about 3-4 months old and are (separately) looking for a home to call their own furever. These boys are a bit on the timid side, but love and patience goes a long way with them and they are getting braver each day 💙

Jamaica can no longer ignore its animal welfare crisis. 🇯🇲

More than 30 dogs were found in this situation, so emaciated they are literally skeletons covered in fur, ticks and fleas. Their bodies leave us wondering how they are still alive.

JSPCA has removed a number of the dogs, and we are caring for the 13 who remain providing food, treating parasites, monitoring them closely, and working to spay and neuter every dog so this cycle ends here.

This post is not about publicly shaming their owner. She appears to have cognitive and hoarding-related challenges and may not fully understand the severity of the animals’ condition. Accountability matters, but this is more complicated than labeling someone a monster and moving on.

Because then we miss the bigger question:

Where is the system that should intervene before 30+ animals reach this point?

Jamaica’s Cruelty to Animals Act dates back to 1904, with its last listed amendment in 1995. Rescuers are still filling enormous gaps with donations, foster homes, personal vehicles, volunteer hours and their own money.

That has to change.

The poisoning, starvation, abuse and endless cycle of unwanted litters must stop. Spay/neuter services exist, but access and large-scale initiatives remain far from where they need to be, especially in rural communities.

This cannot be the responsibility of rescuers alone.

Jamaica needs modern animal welfare protections, meaningful enforcement, accessible veterinary care, widespread spay/neuter initiatives, humane education and systems that intervene before suffering reaches this level.

For these 13 dogs, we are starting with what we can change today: spaying and neutering, treating parasites, restoring their weight, providing food and monitoring them closely.

But we need help.

We need sponsors for their spays/neuters and ongoing food. Even sponsoring one dog’s food each month helps.

Rescuing one animal at a time saves individual lives.

Changing the system will save generations.

It’s 2026. Jamaica’s animals deserve better. 🇯🇲🐾
