Paws down Sound to Narrows was a blast!🏃🐶💚‍

Some of our pups got to participate in the 5k and get loads of pets and exposure to our local running community. The pups couldn't stop wagging their tails over the fun they were having!

We want to extend a HUGE shout out to for opening their space for us and our dogs.
Also major thanks to our incredible volunteers that brought a pup to hang out at the event. Some even ran the 5k! Our volunteer team never ceases to amaze us. The dogs and the Humane Society are so grateful💚

from Violet (formerly Coco)! 💚

Violet’s family found love after heartbreak during this year’s Valentine’s Day Adoption Special.

After saying goodbye to their beloved dog of eight years, they visited the shelter on February 15th—just hoping to feel a little less heartbroken. That’s when they met Violet, a shy little pup with speckled fur and soulful eyes. Though nearly everything and everyone was scary at first, her new family gave her the patience and love she needed to come out of her shell.

Today, Violet is thriving. She accompanies her adopter to work as the resident office dog and perks up with excitement when they stop for pup cups at the coffee stand. While new things can still be a little intimidating, her family is so proud of how far she’s come—and even more excited for who she’s becoming.

“She has been so healing for my heart, and I’m so glad to have her.”

A $14 adoption… and a priceless story.

Excuse our bun pic 👀 🍑 🐰

Meet Xena! This little lady is serious about a few things: her naps, being nosey, and her tidiness.

She's a fastidious queen that is all about learning the tea and Xena isn't afraid to peek at your Teams status to know if you're actually working or just pretending. Her nap spots are on lock because she needs her beauty rest to ensure her good looks won't ever slip 💁 Xena is also the sweetest little bun and really enjoys company, even with her dog pal in her foster home!

Riley thought he heard you say something other than "Good Boy." 🤨

But that would be ridiculous... Because Riley is a definitely a good boy!

Riley likes to be dark and mysterious at the start of relationships. He takes his time before he revealing his soft, sensitive side just like all the romantasy love interests these days. 😂

After his initial shy greeting, Riley turns into the lovey boy he truly is. Some of his favorite activities are stopping mid walk for snuggles, sitting outside next to his person and getting some sniffing the air in on a beautiful day, and being the cutest gentleman ever! His warm eyes have melted the hearts of his volunteer pals 😍

Little Woo and Busta go together like Peanut Butter and Jelly

In the way that peanut butter could easily go solo on a sandwich and you don't often see jelly solo, but together they're perfect!

Let's put it this way, if Little Woo and Busta were early 2000s rappers, Little Woo could definitely have a solo career but Busta's rhymes would never be as good outside the duo. Busta finds his confidence and reassurances with Little Woo at his side. Little Woo may not NEED Busta as much as Busta needs him, but he still loves cuddling and playing with his bestie 💚

We want to adopt them together as a bonded pair because Busta really seems to benefit from having Little Woo with him. And really, who doesn't love a built in duo?!

from Ava Grace (formerly Eva)! 💚

Two years ago, Ava Grace left the shelter as a timid 44lb pup. Today, she’s a 75lb sun-loving, ball-chasing, conversation-starting queen—and living her very best life. 🥰

“She loves any toy that honks. She uses them when conversations are had so she can participate in the conversation too!”

Ava’s transformation is the perfect reminder:
