Today is Crusty Junior's 3rd birthday. Let's wish him a good one! In the second photo, taken just over a year ago, look how tiny baby Jenny was. In the last photo you can see Crusty giving Jenny the business!

I went to Bradley Lake Park this afternoon for another session with Captain and his humans. As soon as I entered the park I heard an angry woman bellowing loudly and cursing. I saw she was yelling at and threatening some children. This was no seminar on how to raise children. Everyone in the area was clearly alarmed by the woman's behavior.

A half hour later I again heard the loud, bellowing, cussing voice. I spotted Mom of the Year about 100 feet away, terrifying her kids.

Then the woman grabbed her 8 year old boy's left arm, pulled very forcibly to the left, using so much force that the boy was airborne. The woman then threw the boy to the ground, jumped on him (she looked like she weighs 300 pounds) and kneed him in the chest.

I immediately called 911. Puyallup officers arrived about 10 minutes later. I gave Officer Ng a full account of what happened, adding that I am a retired officer and would have immediately arrested the woman if I was still active. My clients verified my account.

This was a violation of Washington Domestic Violence law, which requires an arrest when probable cause exists. The officer went off to talk with the woman.

When he returned he told me the boy has autism, and several other conditions the officer couldn't pronounce. He said the woman says it takes a lot of force to restrain her son when he acts out, and added "I don't know much about this stuff."

The officer didn't ask for our names of contact info. This is what we called, in my day, "kissing off a call".

We tried to speak with the officer more, but he was convinced that what the woman did was necessary. It wasn't. The child wasn't acting out at all. But even if he was it is not lawful to do what the woman did to her son.

It was a case of domestic violence and child abuse. It was clear the officer wasn't even going to write a report or get our info. I handed him one of my business cards, so he could get in touch with me if needed.

I plan on contacting the Puyallup Police Chief on Monday. How his officers handled this situation was outrageous and irresponsible. Police Officers are supposed to be the voice of the voiceless, and they really let this little boy down.

What would you have done?

EDIT: Click https://www.facebook.com/share/p/19kJmb8T57/ to share our ad post. Thank you!

I just submitted a new Facebook ad, which should be online soon. If you don't see it, check our timeline. We are going through an incredibly rough time now, and would love to have as many people as possible see our ad and sale.

Shares of the sales post (not this post) will be very much appreciated. If you know someone in need of help, sharing directly with that person would probably be better.

July was the worst sales month I have ever had. I'm so worried right now. We have rent ($1520) and many other bills to pay. I don't even have money to buy food. Well, I could, but I'm trying to keep all we have to use towards bills. If anyone wants to donate a little something, we would really appreciate it.

Tomorrow morning, before we start lessons, Jenny and I will be visiting Summit Veterinary Referral Center to visit with Dr. Riordan, one of the many vets there who helped Rocky Junior. We'll also stock up our display of business cards. After that we'll be going to a busy grooming shop in University Place. The owner told me many of her clients ask for trainer recommendations. She did a lot of research and chose us as her recommendation - so we'll be dropping off business cards and holders there, too.

The Canadian Geese were out in force for Captain the Schipperke's first lesson away from home. Captain did not receive much socialization during his primary socialization period, due to "stay at home" advice from the family's veterinarian (you know how I feel about that).

Thankfully, Captain seemed to suffer no ill effects. He was especially interested in the geese, but remained calm while watching them. Great job today, little buddy! I am so proud of you.

Dolly has been fearful and reactive towards dogs and people for quite some time. Inadequate, positive socialization during the primary socialization period is the culprit, as it often is.

We have made a lot of progress, especially since Jenny joined us. I was shocked at our last lesson to see Dolly so close to Jenny, with no visible indicators of a rise in anxiety.

A couple minutes later the two were playing! We are all so happy. Dolly needs more work, but she has taken a big leap towards recovery.

Jenny went straight to bed after her day of four RAFT sessions. We had one, unexpected leap towards recovery, as well as one frightening moment where Jenny could have been hurt.

Thankfully Jenny wasn't hurt and she finished her day with more great RAFT.

Jenny is starting her day of four RAFT (Reactivity And Fear Therapy) sessions. As usual, Jenny is doing very well so far. Me, not much.

Friday evening I received a notice of suspicious activity on my account - a $25 charge from a web site that is completely unfamiliar to me. The bank rep told me my card was not locked and that they had taken care of the fraudulent activity.

Saturday I went to Safeway to get a few things. My card wouldn't work. I tried 5 times. Then I opened my Bank of America app and saw I had been charged 5 times, though on Safeway's end none of the charges were approved.

I went to Bank of America and found my card was locked. The repeated charges from Safeway were reversed. It's 4-6 days before my new cards arrive.

Meanwhile my card will remain locked. No pre authorized, automatic debit will be approved. I needed cash to get me through the week. The teller told me he couldn't give me over $100 because my driver's license is expired.

Whaaaaat?!? I had completely forgotten about that. So I have to use $55 of that to get my license renewed. I had to reschedule Jenny's vaccine updates late today because I can't afford them, though I could have had it not been for the fraudulent activity on my account.

I hate feeling broke and helpless.

Back in 2016 a large, unruly dog named Beau stole my heart. He was 3-4 years old and had bounced from one home to another several times. Poor Beau was so confused and didn't know how to act.

I gained Beau's trust and love. He was so smart and a real pleasure to train and help. After we finished training Mari hired me to take Beau on outings. His favorite, as you can see, was McDonald's.

Some dogs I never forget and think of them often. Beau is one of those dogs. He was a difficult case, but recovered like a champ - and loved me with all his heart.

Today Mari accidentally called me, and we got caught up. Beau is still alive and doing well. He's 10-13 years old now. Mari told me that thanks to us, Beau has lived the life that was meant for him ♥️

We are SO proud of you, Mari and Beau.
