A little inspiration for your long Memorial Day weekend. 💕✨ I know a lot of you are headed to shows. Remember you trust yourself and have fun.

Girls in sports grow into women who know how to lead, trust themselves, and make decisions with confidence. Sports teach resilience, discipline, independence, and how to keep showing up even when things don’t go perfectly. Especially in riding — there’s no hiding. You learn to listen to your body, trust your instincts, and keep trying anyway.

And the beautiful part? You don’t have to be perfect at it. You don’t have to chase ribbons, ride at the highest level, or even take it seriously all the time. If there’s a sport that makes you feel alive, grounded, challenged, or happy — hold onto it. Especially as an adult. Hold onto it dearly.

That’s what I love most about riding. It’s one of the few sports you can truly do from 3 to 93. Horses don’t care how old you are, what your title is, or what kind of day you had. They just ask you to show up honestly. And there’s something really special about that. 🖤

Don’t overlook the pony.

This guy is a pony stallion, and while pony stallions definitely aren’t for every rider, ponies as a whole deserve a lot more credit than they sometimes get — from the upper levels to the lower levels, for adult amateurs and everyone in between.

There’s this assumption that you always need the big, flashy horse to be competitive, but that’s not always the case. A good pony can be every bit as capable, competitive, and fun. They’re smart, athletic, and often teach you to become a more accurate, effective rider.

You can absolutely scoot around on a pony and still put down great rides, be competitive, and enjoy the process just as much. Sometimes even more.

And at the end of the day, not every horse has to be the biggest mover in the barn to be the right fit. Sometimes the right partner is the one you genuinely love riding — the one that makes the work fun, gives you confidence, and keeps you excited to show up every day.

So if you’re drawn to the pony… go for the pony.
