A year ago today, we opened our doors to our new location. As nice as it is, I’d be lying if I said “I don’t miss the old hospital” and drive by it no less than three times a week. Moving was bittersweet. Lots of blood (yes, I got cut and bitten,) sweat and tears at the old location. Lots of memories, too! It was an honor to be named “Minority Entrepreneur of the Year 2014” the first year we were opened by the Jacksonville-Onslow Chamber of Commerce. Two years later, the chamber honored Bayshore once again as the “Small Business of the Year.” Last year, I received the “Fabric of the Community Award” from the Onslow Civic Affairs Committee. It’s been a good run. While I love the new location, the mark the original location made on my heart is unmatched. It’s where a dream became a reality, a scary reality. Two years without a paycheck but I made it! I didn’t do so alone. Special thanks to Office Manager Aubrey Wedde (who, like a stray cat that you feed, still is hanging around🙃) and Cassie “Tool Girl” Beauregard for building the practice from the ground up. They say surround yourself with good people. I did. These two were the absolute best! Thanks to my associate, Dr. Timothy Pearson, affectionately known as “ Dr. P,” for helping take Bayshore to another level and wearing many hats. Thanks also to the Bayshore staff for “doing it” everyday and not always under the best of circumstances. Thanks also to Humphrey Moving and Storage, Carriage House Furniture and Devita McCrimmon Kearney for making the move a little smoother. Finally, thanks to the Jacksonville clients who continue to patronize Bayshore. Understand long car rides are not good for some patients and clients and are happy to assist you transition to other hospitals. Finally, thanks to the Swansboro community, Swansboro Area Chamber of Commerce and clients who welcomed Bayshore with open arms and wagging tails! It’s been a good run and good first year! Many more, many thanks. Much appreciation.
