Shoreline Veterinary Hospital, PLLC

Shoreline Veterinary Hospital, PLLC We are a full service hospital, putting quality medicine and compassion first!

07/08/2026

Our team comes to work every day because we genuinely love animals and are committed to providing the best care possible for every pet that walks through our doors. Veterinary medicine is more than a job to us... it's a passion, and our staff consistently go above and beyond for our patients and their families.

Recently, our hospital has been operating with a reduced team due to illness, scheduled vacations, and family emergencies requiring staff to be out of state. . Our office will never deny an employee their deserved time away from work, we strive to help best we can with mental health and over working will wear you down QUICK!.
As a one doctor practice, we have a limited number of hands available to care for scheduled appointments, hospitalized patients, emergencies, and walk-in visits. Many days, our team works through lunch, misses breaks, and stays late to ensure every pet receives the attention they need
We understand that waiting can be frustrating. However, if you choose to visit as a walk-in, please understand that we have several notices posted explaining that wait times may be lengthy. Scheduled appointments and medical emergencies must be prioritized, and we do our very best to accommodate every patient as time and staffing allow.

What we will not tolerate is disrespect, verbal abuse, or bullying directed toward our staff. Our employees deserve to work in an environment where they are treated with the same kindness and respect that they extend to every client and patient. We will hang up if you begin to yell at us and be disrespectful, we will send your records to find a new vet. We will not tolerate this type of behavior.

We ask for your patience, understanding, and compassion, just as we strive to show those qualities to you and your pets every day. We appreciate the many clients who continue to support, encourage, and show kindness to our team. Your understanding means more than you know.

Thank you for allowing us to care for your beloved family members, thank you for trusting Shoreline to help make your pets days, the best!

Look look!!! 👀🐾

We have all sorts of fun little goodies “for sale” to help support our Angel Fund account. 💟 (some already there, some on the way)

Most items will only be around $7–8 (but of course, if you’d like to donate a little extra, we certainly won’t stop you 😉🐾💩🐕)

Some of the items there and some coming soon:
• Fire hydrant p**p bag holders (in route)
• Paw print p**p bag clips
• Puppy stand/watch chargers
(photos below 👇)
Taking recommendations on other items (next doing the bowls that attach to a water bottle)

Every dollar raised goes directly toward helping families facing one of the hardest goodbyes imaginable when finances become an added burden during an already heartbreaking time.

Lately, our Angel Fund has not had enough to fully cover cremation costs for every family needing assistance. Even so, our cremation service continues to help however he can, often taking on costs himself simply because he cares that deeply for our community and the pets we all love.

This fund means more than we can put into words. It allows families to focus on loving and comforting their pets in their final moments instead of worrying about how they will afford aftercare.

Thank you all for continuing to support our little clinic, our community, and the animals who mean everything to their families. 🐾💟
Of course, you do not have to buy anything either to make a donation towards this fund either. Text, email or call to make a donation over the phone. 910-238-2015 we have our Venmo now as well

We can even mail these items if you’d like!

Happy Veterinary Appreciation Day to the incredible team that keeps our hospital running every single day. 🐾💙 (June 18th)

Veterinary medicine is not always easy. There are long days, emotional moments, happy endings, heartbreaking goodbyes, and countless sacrifices made behind the scenes that most people never see. But through it all, our team continues to show up with compassion, dedication, and love for every patient and family that walks through our doors.

To our owner and veterinarian, Dr Slater, thank you for your endless commitment, leadership, and for working alongside us daily through the good days and the hard ones.
Dr Welsh comes in here spaying and slaying as I call it!! Thank you for only complaining a little when we add on those last minute emergency surgeries when we already have a full schedule for you!!!

And to our amazing support staff thank you for every early morning, late night, tears shed, comforting hug, paw
squeezes, wagging tail, wet kisses and life saved. Your hard work never goes unnoticed, even on the days it may feel unseen.

06/13/2026

As we start gearing up for the next big holiday, we want to remind everyone that this time of year is unfortunately one of the highest ranking holidays for lost and injured pets, right alongside Halloween. 🐾

The constant knocking on doors, excited yelling children, flashing lights, costumes, and unusual activity can be incredibly stressful for our pets, especially those who are already anxious or fearful. Even the sweetest, most well behaved pets can panic and bolt when overwhelmed.

Now is the perfect time to prepare:
✔️ Make sure your pet’s microchip information is up to date
✔️ Check collars and ID tags for current contact information
✔️ Talk with us ahead of time about calming medications or sedatives if your pet struggles with anxiety or fear during busy holidays
✔️ Keep pets secured in a safe room away from the front door and holiday chaos. Turn on the TV or play some bumpin tunes to drown out the booms

If you will not be home with your pet, it is strongly advised they stay safely indoors. Many frightened pets will run away and continue running from the constant explosions and bright lights. Others may panic and do everything possible to get back inside to what they feel is their safe space.
We have sadly seen pets break through window screens, damage doors, and even shatter sliding glass doors trying to escape the noise and fear.

Nothing is scarier for a pet than a situation they do not understand, and it only takes a split second for a frightened animal to slip out the door.

A little preparation now can help keep your furry family members safe, comfortable, and home where they belong this holiday season. ❤️🐶🐱

🐾❤️ A Community Call for Help ❤️🐾

Update on this sweet young woman, her growing baby and her pup 🩵

We’ve recently learned that she is currently trying to fix up an old camper/trailer to live in. From what we understand, it was gifted to her and is pretty in rough condition.

Now for the exciting part…

One of our staff members here, our practice manager, has lovingly “volun-told” her husband that his leave will now be spent helping make this trailer livable for the time allowed. 🥹

We’re talking handyman work, electrical, plumbing, repairs… whatever he can do to help give this young woman a safer place to call home. And they are doing this completely out of their own pocket and on his personal (no longer vacation) time.

Because of your incredible generosity, we have already been able to help cover the medical expenses for her dog. We cannot thank everyone enough who donated, shared, called, or reached out with support. Truly, every single act of kindness has mattered.

Now, we are hoping to see if we can come together once again to help with supplies and repairs for her home.

If you would like to help, donations can still be called into the clinic, sent through Venmo, or even dropped off as gift cards to places like Home Depot or Lowe’s for materials and supplies.

And honestly… we’ll also take positive thoughts and prayers for no rain while Don is crawling under this trailer working. 😅

Thank you all again for showing what an incredible community this is. If you are interested in helping make a difference in this young woman’s life, please reach out or see comments/message below on how you can donate. Truly no amount is too small 🩵 Thursday 6/11

Monday 6/8
Today, we are reaching out on behalf of a very special client that is helping a beloved woman and her dog.

This young woman is currently pregnant and facing incredibly difficult circumstances. She is living out of her vehicle with her dog, doing everything she can to keep her companion safe, comfortable, and cared for. In the North Carolina heat, she often keeps her car running for long periods of time to help ensure her dog remains comfortable and safe.m while she is working.

Despite her own challenges, her love and dedication to her pet have never wavered.

Unfortunately, veterinary care has become an unexpected financial burden that is simply beyond her current means. As a clinic with the owner having a bleeding heart like all of her staff, we would love to see her dog's medical expenses completely covered so that she can focus on her health, her future baby, and getting back on her feet without the added stress of this veterinary bill.

If you are in a position to help, no donation is too small. Every dollar will go directly toward this pet's medical care and will make a meaningful difference for both this dog and the owner who loves them so deeply.

If you would like to contribute, please contact our clinic directly or stop by in person. If you add your phone number or email and an amount you would like to donate, we can send a payment request and we now have a Venmo account!!

Thank you for helping us show this family that they are not alone. ❤️🐶

Below is the pet in need, running around with our compassionate clients personal pet.

JP (not disclosing names without consent) called us trying to get her in and have her checked out, see why she’s having some specific symptoms.
JP has been helping Anastasia and her mom by watching the dog in her home while she is at work. Saving her on wear on her vehicle, spending unnecessary fuel, most importantly keeping her pup safe and happy.
Just so grateful for our caring community and special thank you to JP and her huge heart and dedication!

Absolutely blown away this morning by the incredibly generous donation we woke up to. 💔🐾

A local rescue that we work very closely with reached out asking for the link to donate to our charitable Angel Fund… and donated $1,000.

I am honestly in tears writing this. The kindness and compassion from our community never cease to amaze us.

One of the hardest parts of veterinary medicine is helping families say goodbye to a beloved pet, especially when finances stand in the way of providing a peaceful, dignified euthanasia. No family should have to watch their pet suffer because they cannot afford end-of-life care.

Our Angel Fund was created to help families during moments exactly like these. Every donation goes directly toward helping pets in need receive comfort, compassion, and dignity in their final moments, or helping provide medical care, medications, and treatment at a reduced cost for families facing financial hardship.

We NEVER want to turn away a single pet in need. Donations like this help keep our doors open to families who are struggling and allow us to continue helping pets pass peacefully, surrounded by love, or receive the medical attention they desperately need.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to every single person who has donated, and an extra special thank you to the girls at No Collar Queens. ncqanimalrescue❤️

If you would like to contribute to our Angel Fund and help a family in need, please contact our office with the amount you would like to donate by calling or texting 910-238-2015, or email [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]). We can send a payment request directly to ensure every donation goes straight into this fund.
