When comparing spay and neuter prices, it's important to look beyond the procedure itself.

At Cane Bay Veterinary Clinic, your pet's surgery includes more than just anesthesia and an incision. We invest in safety, comfort, and recovery because we believe every pet deserves exceptional care.

✔ Thorough pre-operative exam and lab work
✔ IV catheter and fluids
✔ Dedicated anesthesia monitoring by a trained technician
✔ Pre-surgery calming medications and nausea prevention
✔ Pain management before, during, and after surgery
✔ Local anesthetics for additional comfort
✔ Warm, quiet recovery with gentle handling
✔ Post-operative meal, frequent walks, and personalized care

Could your pet have surgery elsewhere for less? Sometimes.

But when it comes to your pet's safety and comfort, we believe the details matter.

Because they're family. ❤️

👀 I spy with my little eye… a little dachshund.

This sweet face belongs to Luna, who visited us today for her spay procedure and removal of a retained deciduous (baby) tooth.

One important part of recovery after anesthesia is maintaining body temperature. Small patients can lose heat quickly, so we take extra steps to keep them warm and comfortable while they recover. Cozy blankets, gentle handling, and a calm environment are all part of our Fear Free approach to patient care.

At Cane Bay Veterinary Clinic, we believe medical care and emotional well-being go hand in hand. Whether a pet is here for a wellness visit or a surgical procedure, we strive to make their experience as safe, comfortable, and stress-free as possible.

Luna clearly took her role as "blanket burrito" very seriously. 💙🐾

🎆 Fireworks season is almost here! 🎆

While many families look forward to Fourth of July celebrations, the loud noises can be frightening for our pets. If your dog or cat experiences anxiety during fireworks, now is the time to request medication refills or discuss treatment options with our team.

Please don't wait until the last minute - we want to make sure every pet has what they need before the holiday.

📅 Cane Bay Veterinary Clinic will be CLOSED Friday, July 3rd.

Call, text, or email us today to request refills before the holiday.

Let's work together to help your pets stay safe, calm, and stress-free this holiday weekend. ❤️🐾

🚗➡️🐱 Apparently “ride sharing” means something different to kittens.

These brave little stowaways traveled under the hood of a car from Walterboro to Trident before finding their way to us! At about 6 weeks old, they’re safe, spoiled, and currently serving full-time as professional cuddle inspectors until they’re old enough for their neuters.

The good news? We believe all of these tiny travelers have already been spoken for! ❤️ Until then, we're soaking up every purr, pounce, and snuggle - and sharing a little of their cuteness with all of you. 🐾🥰

Found a new lump on your dog or cat? It's one of those discoveries that immediately spirals into worry, and the honest truth is that no vet (or pet family) can reliably tell what a lump is just by looking at it. Our newest guide from Cane Bay Veterinary Clinic walks through the difference between benign and concerning masses, when fine needle aspiration makes sense, and how we decide whether a lump should be watched, sampled, or removed.

The idea that cats just throw up sometimes lets real illness go unaddressed for far too long. Repeated vomiting points to something specific, often inflammatory bowel disease or other treatable conditions. Read our latest post to learn what cat vomiting can really mean.

📚🐾 Our leadership team recently had the opportunity to attend Fetch dvm360 in Nashville! Dr. Hill, Dr. Baker, and our leadership team spent several days learning from some of the best minds in veterinary medicine.

We brought home valuable insights on heart disease in dogs, updated spay and neuter recommendations, allergy management, communication strategies, and building a stronger clinic culture. Continuing education helps us stay current, improve the care we provide, and continue growing as a team.

We're excited to put what we've learned into practice and continue finding ways to better serve our patients, clients, and each other. ❤️🐶🐱
