🎆 Fireworks Are Fun for Us… But Terrifying for Pets! 🎆

The 4th of July is one of the most common times of the year for pets to go missing. Did you know, more pets are lost on Independence Day than any other day of the year.

Loud noises like fireworks can cause extreme anxiety for pets, but we’re here to help! 💊 We offer calming medications to help ease your pet’s stress and keep them comfortable during the celebrations.

🐾 Tips to Help Your Pet Feel Safer:
• Keep them indoors in a safe, quiet room
• Play calming music or turn on the TV
• Close windows and curtains to muffle sounds and hide flashes
• Give them a cozy spot with familiar blankets and toys
• Use calming products like sprays or anxiety wraps

📌 Make sure your pet’s microchip info is up to date! A current microchip and ID tag can be lifesaving if your pet escapes!!

😻 Is your cat looking for their new best friend?!! Hallie is your girl!! 🐾

Hallie is just over a year old and has been living at the clinic for a while but it’s her time to fly!! She loves kids, and other cats. She’s good with dogs, is spayed and up to date on all vaccines.
She takes just a bit to warm up to people, but once she trusts you…she’ll never leave!! She is such a snuggly girl who purrs and talks to you 💕

She would do best in a quieter home so she can truly come out of her shell! She also has always been with another cat and we think she would love a best friend to snuggle and play with! If you would like to meet this beautiful sweet girl, stop in today!!

This sweet girl is just under 2 years old and has already been an amazing mama. She was scooped up with her kittens, who have all found their forever homes, and now it’s Poppy’s turn to be spoiled with love! 💕

𝗔𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗲𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗥𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗲𝘀: 𝗥𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲
A cat in the area near Buford Dam (Cu***ng) has tested positive for rabies.

“We are encouraging residents to report any animals appearing to be sick in this area by contacting the Animal Services Division.” said Deputy Director Haley Brown, “We encourage others to come forward if their animals are symptomatic and obtain current rabies vaccinations for your animals.”

Public health officials will notify any individuals who have been exposed to risks and will inform them of the need to seek medical care, if necessary.

To report a wild animal acting strangely, avoid the animal and contact Animal Services at 770-781-2138. If it is after business hours, contact the Forsyth County 911 Center after hours line at 770-781-3087. To report an animal bite, immediately call the Georgia Poison Control Center helpline at 1-800-222-1222 for medical instructions.

The rabies virus can be transmitted to domestic animals and humans only when the virus is introduced into bite wounds, open cuts in the skin, or onto mucous membranes, such as the eyes or mouth. Rabies is a viral infection transmitted in the saliva of infected mammals and enters the central nervous system of the host causing an inflammation of the brain that is almost always fatal.

Wildlife remains the most likely potential source of infection for both humans and domestic animals in the United States since the most common carriers of rabies are raccoons, skunks, coyotes, foxes and bats.

Georgia Rabies Control Law-O.C.G.A. 13-19 mandates that every cat and dog be vaccinated for Rabies by a licensed veterinarian to protect them and prevent spread of the disease. For more about Rabies Virus vaccinations for pets, ask your veterinarian, or visit the Department of Public Health (DPH) online.

These two adorable kittens are looking for their forever homes! 😻

Oliver & Aboo are about 10–12 weeks old. They are not brothers, but you’d never know it from how well they get along! They’re playful, curious, and full of kitten energy. Whether they’re chasing toys, tumbling together, or snuggling up for a nap, these two are always entertaining.

We’d love to see them adopted together since they’re such a great match, but they’d also do wonderfully in a home with other playful cats.
