🐾 Meet the Australian Shepherd!

Despite their name, Aussies were developed right here in the U.S. These intelligent, energetic dogs are known for their eagerness to please, beautiful coats and those gorgeous eyes! 💙🤎 Some even have two different-colored eyes!

Aussies thrive on activity and mental challenges, from agility and puzzle toys to learning new tricks. Like all breeds, they can also be prone to certain health conditions.

Got an Aussie at home? 📸 Share a photo in the comments and tell us what you love most about your four-legged friend!

Who wore it best? Dr. Edwards, or her feline friend? 🐾

Halloween can be fun for the whole family, but take care with your pets with these tips:

✔️ Keep candy out of reach. Chocolate, grapes/raisins, and xylitol (in some sugar-free products) can be dangerous to pets.

✔️ Secure the trash. Wrappers and leftover treats can be tempting to curious pets.

✔️ Choose pet costumes carefully. Look for soft, breathable materials and a comfortable fit. Avoid small, chewable pieces, and remove the costume if your pet seems stressed or uncomfortable.

🔦 Be seen after dark. Reflective gear helps keep pets visible on evening walks.

A little planning goes a long way toward a happy, safe Halloween! 🎃

📸 Planning a spooky pet costume? Tag Academy Animal Care in your photos—we’d love to see your festive four-legged friends!

"Ears" the thing, keeping your dog’s ears clean is an important part of their overall health.

Watch for signs of trouble, such as:
Frequent ear scratching
Head shaking
An unusual or strong odor coming from the ears.

Those floppy ears need a little TLC 🧡, which we offer here at Academy Animal Care!
