From Kelso to Mako: A Happy Foster Update 💙

In January, I brought Kelso home from the Patrick County Public Animal Shelter to foster. At just 3 months old, he’d already been surrendered twice. His first day was rough (lots of biting from him and tears from me), and I worried I was in over my head and might have to bring him back. But after a few days to decompress, his sweet side started to shine through, and I knew he just needed a chance.

Fast forward to today, and Mako is getting ready to turn ONE! His dad drove down from Christiansburg to adopt him in February, and I still get the sweetest updates. He gets to go to work with his dad and is truly living his best life!

Mako’s dad likes to think his beloved Max, who passed away about a month before he found Kelso/Mako’s post online, had a hand (or paw) in bringing Mako into his life, and I love that thought! Stories like Mako’s are why fostering matters. Sometimes, all they need is a little time, patience, and someone willing to believe in them.

If you’re interested in giving a pup like Mako a chance, please reach out via Messenger or call/text 276-694-2378 to get more info on fostering!
