Tanja found Clover as a motherless kitten, wandering near a community campsite’s kitchen facilities, begging for food, yet finding no one kind enough to nourish her. She was constantly chased away by kitchen workers and treated as a nuisance, when all she wanted was food. Emaciated, scared and far from the pretty thing she became, Clover won the heart of Tanja and her fellow campers, who made it their mission to catch Clover, which they were able to do on their final day at the camp. Tanja rushed her to a veterinarian, who felt Clover's chances were grim, at best. But Clover rebounded in the coming weeks. Tanja socialized her and gave her a permanent loving home for 13 years. Our beloved Clover passed away in November of 2015. Clover’s story is testament to what a difference rescue can make in the life of an animal, and how much of a difference we humans can make in the lives of our fellow beings. It’s the kind of difference that Clover Cat Rescue makes for countless cats and kittens in the Patrick County area who would have no chance otherwise. Clover Cat Rescue saves cats from euthanasia at the local pound or takes them out of equally life-threatening circumstances. The group places the cats in temporary foster homes until a forever-home is found. In addition to finding permanent homes for cats, Clover Cat Rescue places a strong emphasis on spay/neuter education & community action programs, such as our bi-monthly spay/neuter transport helping cat-owning members of the community with grant supported spay/neuter service. UPDATE: I AM SO HAPPY TO REPORT THAT TASA HAS FOUND A HOME, THANKS TO YOUR HELP!
VERY URGENT! This beautiful girl has been sitting at the Patrick County Public Animal Shelter for 2 months. The person who surrendered Tasa wrongfully claimed at intake that she does not get along with other dogs. I went there today and personally dog tested her. Her tail was wagging the whole time and she couldn't have been happier to have a friend. The poor girl was mislabeled the whole time and potentially missed her opportunity to get adopted. PCPAS is at max capacity and when there is no room they have no choice but to make room, starting with the ones that have been there the longest. PLEASE SHARE! Tasa deserves a loving home. This is a special plea for a dog that has been at the Patrick County Public Animal Shelter for over a month. He came in as a stray and looked skinny, beat up and depressed. Lots of folks were concerned about him and commented on his original photo. Now his wounds have healed, he put on weight and is happy to greet you, but nobody has come to adopt him. The Patrick County pound is a small facility and is only able to house a limited amount of animals. This baby needs a home asap! He weighs about 30 pounds and is about a year old. He has a long body with short stubby legs, it looks like he has Bassett in his bloodline. Please share this post and call 276 694 6259 if you can give him a home.

A big thank you to everyone who is donating in memory of Tom Hailey. He was a good friend and supporter who just passed away unexpectedly at age 52. Tom and his wife Cathy opened their home and hearts to handicapped cats, and I could always count on them to help me save the life of a cat that needed special care or was disfigured and deemed 'unadoptable'. Those who had the privilege to know him will miss him deeply. My sincere condolences to Cathy, Tom's family, and all who loved him. A truly amazing person has left us too soon.
