Tanja found Clover as a motherless kitten, wandering near a community campsite’s kitchen facilities, begging for food, yet finding no one kind enough to nourish her. She was constantly chased away by kitchen workers and treated as a nuisance, when all she wanted was food. Emaciated, scared and far from the pretty thing she became, Clover won the heart of Tanja and her fellow campers, who made it their mission to catch Clover, which they were able to do on their final day at the camp. Tanja rushed her to a veterinarian, who felt Clover's chances were grim, at best. But Clover rebounded in the coming weeks. Tanja socialized her and gave her a permanent loving home for 13 years. Our beloved Clover passed away in November of 2015. Clover’s story is testament to what a difference rescue can make in the life of an animal, and how much of a difference we humans can make in the lives of our fellow beings. It’s the kind of difference that Clover Cat Rescue makes for countless cats and kittens in the Patrick County area who would have no chance otherwise. Clover Cat Rescue saves cats from euthanasia at the local pound or takes them out of equally life-threatening circumstances. The group places the cats in temporary foster homes until a forever-home is found. In addition to finding permanent homes for cats, Clover Cat Rescue places a strong emphasis on spay/neuter education & community action programs, such as our bi-monthly spay/neuter transport helping cat-owning members of the community with grant supported spay/neuter service. LOST DOG- Dear neighbors on Central Academy in Stuart VA: please keep a look out for a scared dog that escaped from her lead yesterday. She is tri color, very sweet, but shy. This is a picture of her as a young pup; she is about 45 # now. We saw her in our pasture this morning, but when I hiked down, she was not to be found. Please call with any citings. 276-692-5940. Folks in Stuart VA, particularly in the Big A School area, please be on the lookout for Appalachia. She decided to take an afternoon stroll three days ago and hasn’t returned. UPDATE: THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED TOGETHER! This pair is not for just anyone. They have been together always. They were abandoned on a picnic table at a store together, they were brought into the Patrick County Public Animal Shelter together and have been housed at the shelter together. I NEVER say keep them together but with this pair I must. If you can take them both, love them unconditionally, and keep them forever, please come and meet them. They would make a wonderful addition to the right family. Please contact the Patrick County Public Animal Shelter at 276 694 6259 to adopt them!

LOST CAT: Folks in the Fairystone Park area please be on the lookout for Davy. He was staying with his owners in an Airbnb on Fairystone Lake Drive and got out last Friday 6/26 by accident. The owners had to return back home to Northern Virginia and are desperate to get Davy back. If you see the cat please try to confine him and contact me immediately.
