To all of the hardworking shelter staff in Virginia, We appreciate all of the compassion, humility, care and extremely hard work you all put in each and every day.
People don't seem to understand the physical and emotional toll this work has on a person. Usually understaffed and committed to the cause, staff are exhausted....WE SEE YOU.
Make sure to take some time for yourself when possible, shelters are at a consistently full level and it sometimes appears that the is no light at end of the tunnel. Self care is NOT selfish!
