✨ Wellness Wednesday ✨

Steroids can be extremely beneficial to relieve itchy, inflamed skin in the short-term. But after a week of frequent potty breaks, sneaky attempts to eat everything in the house, and 3 A.M. zoomies, you start to wonder what other options are out there.

At Unleashed, we identify the root cause of the itch and tailor a treatment plan specific to your pet's medical needs. While steroids may be used for immediate and short-term relief, we aim to give your beloved companion (and your sleep schedule) a lifetime of relief!

🧡🐾🩵 Happy Veterinary Technician Week! 🩵🐾🧡

This week at Unleashed, we’re celebrating our extraordinary team of veterinary technicians- who go above and beyond every single day to care for our patients, comfort our clients, and keep tails wagging! 🐶🐱

Between providing compassionate care, having the whole lobby in laughs, patting every wiggle-butt that comes into the building, and being our patient’s biggest advocates, vet techs are truly the heart of veterinary medicine. 🩺✨

Thank you for your hard work, dedication, passion, and all the little things you do that make a BIG difference. We appreciate you this week and every week!

Help us celebrate by commenting a memory or something special about your favorite technician! 👇💙

🐾 FAQ FRIDAY 🐾

Immunotherapy is the process by which we give our patients back small amounts of what they are allergic to on a regular basis, to build tolerance to the allergens over time. At Unleashed, we offer several different approaches to immunotherapy:

1. Traditional immunotherapy protocols involving oral or injectable immunotherapy. This approach slowly builds the immunotherapy over time, usually at home.

2. Rush immunotherapy. This protocol involves administering the first 5 months of immunotherapy over 1 day while in our clinic under close supervision. The advantage of this protocol is that it shortens the time to efficacy and it means fewer shots at home during the induction period.

3. Intralymphatic immunotherapy. This is an alternative induction protocol that involves injecting the allergens directly into the popliteal lymph node, also to speed up the time to efficacy.

4. Venom immunotherapy. This type of immunotherapy is intended for patients who have allergic reactions to venomous insects. Venom allergy testing and immunotherapy must be performed under close veterinary supervision due to risk of anaphylactic reaction.

Our poor patient George had been suffering for months with an ear infection. We performed a skin scraping of his ear and found that he has mites! We put him on Bravecto and he’ll be back to new in no time.
