Happy National Allergy Day!

Canine and feline allergic dermatitis are becoming more prominent among pet populations. Here at Unleashed, we’re prepared to help:

Pictured below are the results of an intradermal allergy test (IDAT). At Unleashed, our IDAT tests for 58 different environmental allergens (including mites, trees, weeds – even human dander!). The diluted allergens are individually introduced into the skin, and within 10 minutes, the doctor can identify and “score” your pet’s allergies.

💡Pro tip: the only way to test for a food allergy is with a strict diet trial (no blood or intradermal allergy testing!)

While allergies may be unavoidable, our goal at Unleashed is to work together to manage symptoms and improve both yours and your pet’s quality of life!

🔔🔔🔔A huge PSA to all pet owners during this treacherous heatwave🔔🔔🔔

One of our patients came into our clinic yesterday experiencing symptoms of heat stroke. It is important to know the clinical signs that your pet may be experiencing heat stroke and you should seek veterinary care ASAP. Luckily our staff was quick to the rescue and treated our patient with flow by oxygen, cool soaked cloths and a light rinse, monitoring his temperature until hyperthermia was no longer a concern.

Stay safe out in this heat! 🔥🐾

There will be ongoing construction in front of our building on Nichols Ave. We ask that all clients enter through our back parking on Booth Street (parking is still available up front).

If you are coming from Route 8/Merritt Parkway and plan to go down Nichols Ave, please enter the street after our main entrance (Booth St).

If you are coming from 91/95 North, please enter Nichols Ave, go past our building and take a detour on Wheeler Terr to bring you to Booth street

This Saturday, Dr. Falk is partnering with veterinary supply company Dechra to share her knowledge on cytology protocols and various dermatological conditions. This presentation and wet lab will show veterinarians exactly what to be on the lookout for under the microscope in their own clinics!

We have decided to make our veterinary scholarship an annual tradition, and our 2026 scholarship is now open for applications. If you have a budding veterinarian in your life, please encourage him/her to apply.
