This weekend gave us quite a scare when Charlie, the beloved pup of our very own Referral Coordinator and Liaison extraordinaire, Cody, suddenly took a turn for the worse. What started as mild GI symptoms that didn’t respond to fluids, rest, or probiotics quickly escalated into a life-threatening case of Hemorrhagic Gastroenteritis (HGE).

Charlie was admitted to our ICU, where his simple overnight stay became five days of intensive care, including an NG tube, central line placement, plasma transfusion, and round-the-clock nursing. Thanks to the swift action of our medical team and the unwavering support of his Dad, Charlie pulled through and went home today—tail wagging and all!
•
Cody shares that he’s beyond grateful to his Shoreline family for saving Charlie’s life—but also credits Trupanion Pet Insurance for giving him the peace of mind to say “yes” to every treatment Charlie needed without hesitation.

“After four weeks of intensive care and rehabilitation, we are thrilled to share that Albus WALKED out of the building and headed home!🏡
Albus, who was diagnosed with Lower Motor Neuron Disease (LMN), initially presented with complete paralysis of all four limbs. This condition affects the nerves that transmit signals from the brain to the muscles, leading to weakness and loss of function.
While there is no definitive cure for LMN, the commitment and dedication of Albus’ family, alongside the expert care provided by Dr. Heather Galano and the partnership between the Neurology service and ICU crew, played a pivotal role in his recovery. Through continuous monitoring, therapy, and an unwavering fighting spirit, Albus has made an incredible recovery.
Albus is the embodiment of resilience and hope. His journey serves as a reminder that even in the face of daunting challenges, progress is possible. His recovery offers inspiration to others navigating similar battles, showing that with determination, support, and love, remarkable things can happen. 💙
We are deeply grateful for the trust his family placed in us and are proud to have been part of his journey.

Last night was anything but ordinary for the staff at . In the middle of nonstop emergency cases, the incredible vet techs, veterinarians, and support staff faced an unexpected crisis—a fire in the laundry room that forced an evacuation.

Despite the chaos, they never stopped caring. They stabilized patients, comforted clients, and handled every moment with grit, heart, and professionalism.
The protocols they prepared for, but never wished to happen, were enacted immediately.

To the Vets, Vet Techs, Vet Assistants and all the staff involved, THANK YOU for all you did and will continue to do.

And to the North Haven FD, your swift response and concurrent actions will always be deeply appreciated.
