We’ve been celebrating Administrative Professionals Week in the best way possible here at VCA Shoreline—with a sweet surprise from Duck Donuts in Orange! These donuts were still warm when they arrived (yes, really!), and choosing which one to try was almost as tough as choosing a favorite puppy in a litter.
🍩💙
This treat was a small but heartfelt thank-you to our incredible Client Service Representative and Liaison Teams—our front-line rockstars who are often the first and last faces you see during your visit. Whether it’s answering calls, comforting nervous pet parents, or juggling a hundred moving parts behind the scenes, they help keep our hospital running smoothly every single day. We appreciate them more than words (or donuts) can say!

We’re kicking off Administrative Professionals Week here at VCA Shoreline by celebrating our incredible CSR and Liaison Teams—and today, we’re shining the spotlight on the wonderful Tammy!
🐾
During Oswald’s ICU stay, his mom was understandably worried. But thanks to Tammy’s compassion and communication, she felt comforted knowing her beloved pet was in the best hands. Tammy kept her updated with sweet pictures and reassuring messages, helping Mom feel connected even while Oswald was being cared for in the hospital.
🐾
Our CSR and Liaison teams play such an important role in making sure you feel supported, informed, and comforted when your pet is hospitalized. We know how hard it is to be away from them, and Tammy is one of the many team members who go above and beyond to bridge that gap.
🐾
Thank you, Tammy, for your kindness, empathy, and dedication. We’re so lucky to have you on our team!

Happy (almost) National Grilled Cheese Day from the VCA Shoreline FUN Club! Today we got mad cheesy and enjoyed some comfort food with one another! The FUN Club fed us while we worked hard to provide the gold standard for our patients today! We gobbled up grilled cheese with all of the toppings along with homemade tomato soup and crunchy chips to top it off! It was exactly what we needed on the wild Wednesday in our busy hospital! An extra big thank you to Cody, Liz, Mary & Christine for organizing, cooking and delivering the FUN!!!!

Medical emergencies can occur suddenly and without warning, so it's best to be prepared. A Pet First Aid Kit allows you to have important items available to care for your pet in one area. No one can be prepared for all emergencies, but it's still important to have the basics.

If the emergency is severe, get your pet to your local hospital as soon as possible.

March is Women’s History Month and no better time to honor the remarkable achievements of women across all industries, and the veterinary field is no exception. Women have long been at the forefront of animal care, veterinary research, and education. They are breaking barriers, leading innovations, and providing compassionate care to animals around the globe.
💪🏼
In veterinary medicine, women are playing crucial roles in all areas—from private practices to research labs, teaching institutions, and animal welfare organizations. According to the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), women make up more than 50% of the veterinary workforce, a figure that has steadily increased in recent decades.
💪🏼
The veterinary field requires a unique blend of empathy, scientific expertise, and hands-on skills, and women in this profession bring a diverse range of perspectives and experiences that enrich the industry. Whether it’s through pioneering new treatments, advocating for animal rights, or educating the next generation of veterinarians, women are making a lasting impact.
💪🏼
During the month of March, let’s celebrate the women who continue to shape the future of veterinary medicine. Their contributions to animal health and well-being, coupled with their dedication to advancing the profession, make the veterinary field more dynamic and compassionate.
💪🏼
We also acknowledge the ongoing need for support, mentorship, and equality in the profession, ensuring that women can continue to thrive and inspire future generations of veterinary professionals. Let’s continue to break down barriers and create more opportunities for women in veterinary medicine, ensuring a bright and inclusive future for all.

When the world feels uncertain, with so many unknowns and people struggling with worry and confusion, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. In times like these, we can all benefit from something pure and joyful, and what better way to bring a little peace than with the unconditional love and comfort of puppies?
-
As veterinary professionals, we know that animals have an incredible ability to ground us, to offer solace without words. Puppies, with their boundless energy and playful spirits, remind us of the simple joys in life and help us reconnect with the present moment. Whether it’s watching them learn new tricks, seeing their first wobbly steps, or just cuddling up with their soft fur, these moments can offer a much-needed escape from the noise of the world.
-
So, as we navigate through this uncertainty, let’s take a moment to share the healing power of puppies—whether we’re treating them, adopting them, or simply enjoying their playful company. The joy they bring isn’t just for the pet owners; it’s a reminder for all of us to find joy in the little things, to take a breath, and to find comfort in the simple act of loving and being loved by an animal.

Have you ever seen the way a pet responds when you tell them they’re a “good boy” or “good girl”? It’s incredible how their demeanor shifts, as if they understand and appreciate the kindness. At our hospital, we make it a point to shower our patients with positive affirmations—telling them they’re brave, beautiful, handsome, or strong—because we know how much comfort it can bring, especially when their humans can’t be by their side. It’s a simple but powerful way to connect with them, ease their anxiety, and let them know they’re cared for. After all, when they’re in our hands, they’re not just patients; they’re family. We’re honored to be their support when their loved ones can’t be there.
