Pet Kare was proud to host a water station at the Steamboat Marathon yesterday, continuing a tradition we've enjoyed for many years! 🐾
We were especially excited to cheer on our very own Dr. Karen, who ran the marathon and was able to stop by and say hello along the way.

June is weight awareness month!

Did you know that being just a few pounds overweight can have a significant impact on your pet's health?
Just like people, dogs and cats that carry extra weight are at increased risk for serious health problems, including:
• Arthritis and joint pain
• Diabetes
• Heart and respiratory disease
• High blood pressure
• Reduced mobility and energy levels
• Increased risk during anesthesia and surgery
• Shorter lifespan

Many pet owners don't realize their pet is overweight because weight gain often happens gradually. A few things your can do to help your pet stay at their ideal weight:
• Feed measured portions.
• Avoid too many treats, especially table scraps!
• Get out every day for exercise and play!
• Schedule regular wellness exams and weight checks.

We recommend taking a moment to evaluate your pet's weight and body condition. If you're unsure whether your dog or cat is at a healthy weight, swing by the clinic and feel free to weigh your pet anytime. We can always get your pet scheduled with a doctor to discuss the best plan for your pet to keep them healthy and happy!

A healthy weight isn't just about appearance, it's about giving your pet the best chance at a longer, happier, healthier life. ❤️🐶🐱

This month we celebrate our sweet Sarah on an incredible 20 years with Pet Kare Clinic! For two decades, she has been the warm smile and caring heart welcoming everyone through our doors. We are truly so lucky to have such a wonderful presence at our front desk — lovingly known as our “Human Sunshine.” ☀️
