Meet Brandee & Bogey! This adorable brother-and-sister duo recently visited us for their dental cleanings, and they did a fantastic job!

Wildfires can be devastating for families, communities, and the animals we love. As fires in our area continue to spread, smoke and fire conditions can change quickly, so it’s important to be prepared to protect both your pets and livestock.
During periods of poor air quality, keep animals indoors or in a well-ventilated shelter whenever possible. Provide plenty of fresh water, limit strenuous activity, and watch for signs such as coughing, difficulty breathing, eye irritation, or unusual lethargy.
Make sure you have an evacuation plan in place before you need it. Know where you’ll relocate your animals too, and keep carriers, halters, trailers, medications, feed, water and important records ready to go.
Steamboat Veterinary Hospital is a proud partner of the Community Animal Response Team(CART). If you have questions about protecting your animals, need guidance with emergency preparation, are unsure of where to evacuate your animals too, or need assistance evacuating, give us a call our team is here to help. We also have doctors on call 24/7, including over the weekends to don’t hesitate to call if you need us.

While fireworks aren’t permitted this year, they still happen and the excitement of the holiday weekend can be stressful for some pets.
If your pet takes gabapentin and/or trazodone, be sure to request your refill early today so you’re ready for the weekend. Give us a call if you need a refill or have any questions.
