The Poughkeepsie location of the Animal Emergency Clinic is temporarily CLOSED and the Kingston location will be open 7 days a week.

We have made the difficult decision to temporarily close our Poughkeepsie location in order to provide the best care for our patients and preserve the health of our team.
If your pet needs emergency services the Kingston location will now be open 7 days a week and can be reached at (845)336-0713.

Dr. McFee demonstrates how to properly brush your dog's teeth with our beautiful patient Navi the golden retriever. Without proper preventative or therapeutic care, plaque and tartar buildup leads to periodontal disease which affects the tissues and structures supporting the teeth. Tartar has a contributory role due to its roughened surface, which enhances bacterial attachment and further plaque development and also irritates gingival tissues. Periodontal disease causes red, swollen and tender gums, recending gums, bleeding, pain, bad breath, and if left untreated can lead to tooth loss. The inflammation and infection associated with periodontal disease may damage other organs such as the heart, liver, and kidneys or lead to other serious health problems. February is National Pet Dental Month. February 1st until March 15th, dental services and products are 10% off and tooth brushing during a grooming appointment is 50% off. On behalf of my brother & SIL - Mark & Dawn Van Etten - wanted to thank you all, especially Dr. Renee on the wonderful care of their family pet, Bella, a beautiful black sharpei. Dr. Renee & staff cared for Bella for about 15 years! As heartbreaking as it was to see Bella walk off for the last time with Dr Renee, they were knew, she was in good hands, Bella never even looked back. If you knew Bella, you knew she was a very "special" challenged dog - who had to go in the side door every time. God Bless you all, thank you!
